Excellent Picture & Great Price

Duke N., Newegg
12 March 2010
  • Summary: I currently have 2 Panasonic plasmas (G10 series) and my friend has a Pioneer plasma. I find this tv picture is just as good as those. I do not see any problems with black level as stated in the C/Net review, which makes me wonder about the accuracy of the professional reviews.
  • Pros: The picture quality is just as good as any plasmas on the market. The loudness on the speakers is more than adequate. When factoring in the Newegg price, this tv is the best on the market.
  • Cons: Cannot label the inputs.

Absolutely Incredible

Anonymous, Newegg
16 February 2010
  • Summary: Just one....buy it! You, your family, your friends, will all be thankful you did! Oh, fyi, I researched for about 2 weeks and came to the conclusion that plasma was the way to go for picture quality and well, coolness.....
  • Pros: I waited for 2 weeks for this tv and am one to get real excited for a new "gadget." Sometimes I inflate how awesome something is and then am disappointed when I receive it. With this said, I am absolutely stunned how incredible this TV is and the picture. It is crystal clear! I am more knowledgea...
  • Cons: one.....didnt get here quick enough (wasnt Neweggs fault, the order was on hold status, once processing went through, it took about 4 days (shipping hours---long weekend) for it to get here. Well worth the wait!

User Review

Heather L., Newegg
9 February 2010
  • Summary: It is bigger than it looks, and bigger than you are probably picturing it. Leastwise thats they way it was for me. The mounts for TVs this heavy are kind of expensive.
  • Pros: The room I have this tv in has a considerable amount of light, and it is next to two windows, still looks awesome. This thing looks really sleek and I found the menu to be intuitive and not sluggish at all as some are. Ports are well placed
  • Cons: I am disappointed that its only 60hz on the PS so no 3D, but thats no big deal. The power cord is super short, like 2ft I would guess, 3ft maybe.

WOW

james p., Newegg
19 December 2009
  • Summary: I tested the Samsung, panasonic, vizio and LG, LED, Plasma and LCD. Stay away from LED, LED backlight is uneven so some parts of the TV are darker than others. Most people don't notice this till the return policy is up. The backlight on both LED and LCD is very annoying when trying to watch movies.
  • Pros: Welp, all i have to say is wow. If you are looking for a TV, this is money well spent. REALLY well spent. I've tested them all and this is by far equivalent if not better than the $3000 panasonics. I put them side by side. AMAZING picture quality here.. Simple setup. Picture wizard actually helps...
  • Cons: The remote is almost line of site, however the my samsung PN58B860 was way worse. Little heavy, but worth that solid glass. Speakers sound a little weak. Better than the samsung for sure. If you own a 60" Plasma HDTV, you'd better have at least a cheap 5.1 surround. Onkyo TX-SR507 is perfect with...

This thing is the Chiz Nits!

Robert P., Newegg
31 October 2009
  • Summary: Make sure you go through the picture wizard before using it, and any time it gets unplugged. The wizard settings remain in memory, but aren't applied after being unplugged. That's a little stupid...
  • Pros: Plasma is still king. 600Mhz refresh, where high end LCD caps out at 240. Plasma can change the state of the pixel, instead of turning it off and on like LCD (cause for blur in action movies / sports). Incredible size, versus what LCD can do. Best in class (Price / Size / picture).
  • Cons: Heavier than LCD. Requires a heavier / more expensive mount, if you're going to put it on a wall. Changing from port to port is a little stupid, as you have to hit input to find the right input, then enter.

Its huge!

David F., Newegg
2 October 2009
  • Summary: Definitely worth its weight in cash. With a good HD movie it feels like you are watching in a movie theater. I would recommend getting the sony HT-SS360 home theater system with this tv. It's very inexpensive, and what I purchased, and man can that thing deliver! Overall, an awesome TV.
  • Pros: Size. I bought this tv specifically because it was 60" (and the cheapest plasma at this size). You will not be disappointed with this purchase. Very sleek design, especially with the single front glass panel. This looks more robust than a lot of lcd tvs that really have nothing to protect the scr...
  • Cons: This tv is heavier than hell, though I managed to move it up and down stairs twice with only two people. The front glass panel sticks out about quarter of an inch on all sides, and this makes it a little harder to handle than if it had been flush. The remote needs to be pointed almost directly at...

Great set

John S., Newegg
7 September 2009
  • Summary: This definitely takes two people to move - trying to move it on your own is just asking to be out $2,000.
  • Pros: Huge! Upgraded from a 40" LCD to this Great colors SD still looks passable Solid glass panel looks amazing
  • Cons: No 3.5mm audio out - digital optical only, so no low end speaker systems
