Summary: One year in on this TV and the thing has a mind of its own. Sometimes it goes to some garbled screen of colors on its own and the only way to get rid of it is to pull the plug on the tv. The remote wont work nor the buttons on the tv itself. Also the sound quality is ridiculously poor. This was my second tv because the one before it sucked too. I thought it was a defect in the tv. Turns out its just a crappy design i guess.
Summary: Clear and sharp and very small bezel makes it look even bigger. A board failed in it after I'd had it about nine months, LG set up an appointment with their contracted local service, they came out, took the TV off the mantle, opened it up, replaced the board, put it back up on the mantle - all done in 30 minutes, no charge to me! Been perfect ever since (about three months ago). I own two other LG TVs, never a problem with them, all three are great!
Summary: I returned my Panasonic 55-inch plasma that had rave reviews from professionals and users alike. I could not get used to the dark picture and the grainy image (and yes the room was dark). I spent hours trying to calibrate it correctly. The final straw came when I was watching a basketball game and simply could not see it clearly. On a 55-inch set 15 feet away! So I returned it to the local vendor. I didn't want to pay $100 more for a Vizio with buit in wifi.
Summary: I bought this TV after reading great reviews. I have had the TV for over 6 months now to assure appropriate time and familiarity with the settings to see if I could get it right before writing a review. The TV is just OK. I was between the LG and the similar Samsung. I should have bought the Samsung. The 120hz refresh rate is nowhere near fast enough. Sporting events or anything in motion is blurry. The picture is not that clear even in HD.
Summary: I bought this TV in August 2012 as a replacement for my Sony Vega 32. I did a lot of research before buying it and narrowed my search down to the LG, Samsung and Sharp. I usually always look for customer reviews because they are the truest yardstick for any product - especially objectively written 1 and 2 star reviews. One negative point that consistently emerged across different web sites was the 'tinny' sound. I often wondered what it meant.
Summary: This is a great entry level 3-D LED TV for the price. The only bad thing I can say about it is the commercial volume reducer that is supposed to kick in if in that mode doesn't work properly so you end up with some louder than normal commercials and lower volume shows when returning from commercials. To fix this problem just turn off this feature and mute the TV during commercials. Otherwise a very good TV for the price.
Summary: Love it. The color, sound, resolution! The function of Internet connection is useful for us. We order movies online directly and play it on the tv, so convenient! If the Internet applications .e.g. YouTube, could store where we left after we quit the program or switch off the tv! It would also be nice to have quick forward and backward function when using YouTube to watch movies.
