Summary: I purchased this TV July 4, 2010 on a 24 month plan. At the 22nd month, the tv screen went dark. I called LG who told me, they do not stand by their product, and since the warranty is only for one year, a television that is one year and 10 months old is not their problem and they will do nothing...
Summary: This is a great TV, and Newegg is a pleasure to deal with. Keep in mind that this TV is edge lit, which is the reason it is so thin. You may want to tweak some settings, I know I did.
Pros: Very large display (especially going to this from a 22" monitor) Very thin Bezel color, like most recent LG tvs is basically black unless light hits it right, fits in with any interior style/color Picture is great, contrast ratio is average.
Cons: Local dimming is basically useless since THIS IS AN EDGE-LIT TV. The Newegg description didn't mention that this was edge-lit and I didn't do my homework so it is partially on me. I turned local dimming off because it causes a great deal of bloom and flickering, especially during credits. Current...
Cons: Network feature only recognized 400 items. So, only half of my video library shows up. The LG BD 670 shows all. Volumn buttons do not work on the TV. Standard def programing shows a slight shadow around images. I have the 55LE8500 which has none of these faults.
Summary: This TV is multi-purpose - TV / PC monitor / XBOX Screen. It has HDMI ports (4), RYW ports (3), RGB (2), Fiber Optic Audio, PC ports (2), USB (2), and several others. More than any normal person could ever hope to fill. The picture quality is - in a word - STUNNING.
Summary: This is my first LG purchase and I have not regretted it. I look forward to buying more quality LG products in the future.
Pros: I desired a non-3D TV with as many bells and whistles as possible. LG did not disappoint me as this TV continues to impress me. I've had two HD TVs before this purchase, but I've never seen a picture this life-like. My old TV died and this is the replacement that I've been waiting for. I look for...
Cons: The shipping was a little slow, but the shippers were very curtious and even helped me get this brute out of the box. My guess is that oversized shipment take longer than the usual two days.
Pros: Got this model for one purpose. So I did not want rewire my entire man cave. Use this with the LG Wireless Hub(LG AN-WL100W) and all I had to do was plug the tv into an outlet and was done. Can send my dvr, PS3, Xbox & PC across the room with out running any wires. Picture is fantastic. Sound cou...
Cons: Comes in a really big box. Wasn't broke so can't complain to much.
Summary: This was the first time I have purchased such a large, expensive item online. It was a positive experience. The shipping was quick and we were contacted before the delivery to make sure we would be home. LG makes a good product
Summary: I absolutely love this TV. Being a movie fan, I have no regrets upgrading from a 32" to this 55" set. I appreciate the versatility of picture mode selections and energy saving. The images are sharp and vivid, the sound quality superb. Can't wait to hook up a surround sound system. Thank you LG :-)
Summary: I purchased this TV for a friend who ended up returning it because of HDMI issues right out of the box. Overall, the TV looked nice but felt very cheap. It was heavier than it sounded in the listing and the picture quality was not that great.
