Summary: This has been a great TV since I bought it in July 2010, just over four years from this writing. Unfortunately the manufacturer warranty is only one year, and today it developed a 0.8" vertical white line top to bottom. Stays on all inputs, overlays the menu, etc. I talked to an LG agent through online chat and he said it definitely required service and gave me the phone numbers for two authorized servicer electronics stores in my area, but of course I would have to pay...
Summary: I have to say I have loved this TV until a month ago when a green line appeared down the middle of my screen. I called LG and apparently the panel is gone.... its only 3 years old. A TV should last more than three years, especially if you are spending that kind of money on it. I am very unhappy with this product.
Summary: I was excited by this deal 2.5 years ago and loved the tv for long time. After one year it would sometimes not turn on and I would have to wait an hour. Now it wont turn on at all and when I google the problem turns out this is very common. TV should last much longer for $800.
Summary: Pros: - Great color and display - Picture looks very sharp and clear - Picture viewing from the side of the TV is not too bad - Sound is OK Cons: - Display started having vertical lines after about a year and a half. However, LG customer service went out of the way repairing it for free. The picture now is even better than the picture when I first bought the TV.
The LG PK550 plasma is by far the best budget 50 inch you can bu

Excerpt: First off, I have owned my fair share of plasmas and LCD televisions and hands down, plasma wins. The blacks are way deeper. The picture quality on this plasma is superb. Watching a blu ray on it has caused me to stay home as opposed to go to the movie theatres. You can customize everything on the picture, the settings are endless. The only drawback would have to be the amount of power this sucker eats up.
Great TV set with a few quirks which may turn off some people

Excerpt: I bought this TV last year from eBay for $750 after all the rebates and cashback offers. I'd read a lot of reviews and about 80% of the reviews were positive for this TV. I was debating whether I should get the 60PK550 or 50PK550 or 50PK750 and it ultimately came down to this...most of the reviews stated that 50PK550 had the best overall picture and color.
Excerpt: We bought our LG 50 in HDTV about a year ago. We downgraded from a 65 inch mitsubishi so that first off was quite a shock and very hard to get used to. But otherwise, the television has been very awesome. We use U-Verse television and subscribe to the HD channels and usually watch those on our television and the screen quality is amazing on it. The television itself was actually very easy to assemble. I could even do it, and I did help my husband put it together.
Summary: This is the best tv I have ever owned. The picture is out of this world. It is easy to use and looks like a million bucks in my living room. Our friends all rave about it as does anyone who happens to see it. Our first plasma and I hope the plasma format is around for a long long time.
Summary: I bought this tv to replace a plasma that ended up dying on me after many years of service. I am very happy with it. I only have it for 2 days so far but right out of the box it looks great. I can't wait to fine tune it and configure it.
Pros: Performance, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality
