Summary: Will not buy an LG product again. TV has sound but no picture after 17 months - coincidentally the warranty only lasts a year. Still trying to work out how to fix it but I think I've learned my lesson and will either purchase from TV companies that stand behind their product with a longer warranty or purchase from a company that backs the products they sell by extending the warranty.
Summary: I Bought this TV in July of 2012, (16 months ago) it had great definition and colors, last night it died while I was watching a movie. It suddenly shut itself off and would not start up again. I checked to make the power plug was securely plugged in, all were secure. This TV has been plugged in into a UPS since the day I got it. What a waste of money! I will never buy a LG product again.
Summary: Screen powers off and wont stay on, just a splash of what you are watching, then powers off. Out of Warranty by 60 days or so. Not backed by amazon or LG. I called LG, since it's out of warranty (over one year) they could care less. They gave me 3 local "authorized" repair people. All quoted me $300-$500 to fix the issue. WASTE OF MONEY. Look elsewhere or go with a LCD not plasma.. we love our other LG 37" LCD too...such a shame. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.
Summary: Purchased this TV in July of 2012 it is now Christmas morning and TV will not stay turned on. Prior to the TVs demise it worked well enough, though the sound quality was terrible, picture quality was good. I guess the only plus side is that I called customer service and set up a repair, considering it was Christmas morning I was surprised to get a person on the line.
Summary: I bought this TV online because the title of the Google search result for the link to the LG site said "LG 50PA6500: 50 inch Class 3D capable 1080P Plasma TV with ...". Note the "3D capable" part, which also displays in the browser tab when you visit the LG site. I bought the TV expecting 3D and was disappointed to find it didn't have it. I contacted LG and their response was essentially, "We'll fix our web page...thanks.
Summary: Update: 6-8-2014. While I loved this television while it worked it recently died! Pretty sad that LG won't cover this, it's apparently a big problem with this model but it is very sad that it died in under 2 years (funny, warranty is only 1 year on this model) I guess I'll happily spend a little more and go back to Samsung. I guess it's better to spend a little more instead of having a pile of junk to replace every 2 years!
