Summary: We purchased this Smart TV yesterday. It did not connect with our router no matter who tried. The LG technician came out this morning and he was of very little assistance. We have many other devices and all connected without a problem. Needless to say, we returned the TV today.
Summary: You have to sit DIRECTLY in front of this TV for accurate color reproduction. Sitting 5 feet off to either side off center and a pink hue starts to take over. I wanted to love this TV so bad but it had to go back. Ended up getting the Sony 48" KDL-48W590B and couldn't be happier.
Pros: best looking tv in its class (when off)
Cons: picture color distorted when viewing off center
Summary: I selected LG HDTV because of the non-reflective frame. The picture quality is very good, but the sound quality is not good with a hissing echo. So I added an LG sound bar which is very slim. Then, the remote controller signal cannot be detected because the remote sensor is located at the bulged bottom which was blocked by the sound bar.
Pros: good video quality non-reflective frame intuitive menus
Cons: not comaptible with a sound bar. the buttons on the remote controller are heavy.
Summary: Our kids bought this for us. We were overwhelmed at first and scared to even take it out of the box. We finally took it out and did our best to get it all set up. We were thrilled with it when we had a picture. Loved it. But 3 days later, we figured out how to connect it to our cable provider. And then, when the new picture flashed on we both yelled. It's the most fabulous picture we have ever seen on a tv. It even looks better than in the store.
Pros: best picture ever easy to setup. we're senior citizens and did it. sound is terrific too which is a huge plus for us.
Cons: makes the food commercials look too good. how can i lose weight now?
Summary: Picked up this TV yesterday, and I am already frustrated with this. First, the TV could not connect to the wireless network. I have a D-Link Wireless Router, which I had picked up from Costco too a couple of years ago, and all of my devices are able to connect to the Wireless network, no problem. But this TV seems to have a mind of its own. Even through I put in the security key to access the network, the TV would not connect to the wireless network.
Summary: Best combination of quality, features, and price at the 50" size. This model is new for 2014 and it shows with its very, very slim profile and stunning aesthetic appearance. It looks like a museum piece with its contemporary stand and brushed nickel finish. And the Smart TV features are impressive. The picture is very crisp and the sound quality is solid. The TV comes defaulted to Energy Saving Mode which you can override at initial setup.
Pros: looks like a piece of modern art very slim profile good picture and sound nice smart tv interface very easy setup great price
Summary: I am not the type of person who writes reviews but for all those buyers out there who have a hadr time deciding what to buy i say to you that this TV is worth the money. Picture is realistic and vibrant. I did not have to calibrate the picture. It is a Great TV right out of the Box.
Summary: Took a Samsung back and purchased this, great price, lower than equivalent but no 3D , however had the chance to buy the same but in 3D but seems 3D its on the way out in favour of UHD, really wonderful image, and will keep it , nearest thing at the moment to UHD, once again I shop future shop everytime as they will take it back, no questions asked , well maybe, why?
Summary: I love this Tv..its amazing!!! The only thing that disappoint me its the fact it doesnt have a magic remote..you need to buy it separately and its hard to use the remote included on the box but aside from that i have never encountered a problem so far about this model..The price is descent enough considering it is smart, large screen tv with intellegent energy saving feature that automatically adjust the brightness of the screen according to its environment.
