Excerpt: Quote from the LG LX9500 review: "With its slender profile, ultra -thin bezel, and edge-to-edge glass, LG's 47-inch LED backlit HDTV is a thing of beauty. And with solid 2D and 3D image quality and deep blacks, the picture isn't bad either. But at $4,000+ before accessories , this 3D TV is no bargain." The review suggests that it is a good idea to compare to high-end 3D TVs from Smasung, Sony and Panasonic to optimize the value and price ratio.
Conclusion: With its slender profile, ultra-thin bezel, and edge-to-edge glass, LG's 47-inch LED backlit HDTV is a thing of beauty. And with solid 2D and 3D image quality and deep blacks, the picture isn't bad either. But at $4,000+ before accessories, this 3D TV is no bargain.
Pros: Beautifully designed. Good 3D and sharp HD image quality. Deep blacks. Energy efficient.
Cons: Very expensive. Some backlight blooming. Uncomfortable, expensive 3D glasses.
Conclusion: The LG 47LX9500 is a very capable 3D TV with a great feature set. In particular, we liked the aesthetics of this television, coupled with its 240 zone, locally dimmable LED display, Wireless HD support and internet support. While the 480Hz rating is certainly nice to look at, we highly doubt that it will produce any easily discernible benefit over 240Hz displays.
Excerpt: The LX9500 is great 47” 3-D LCD TV that received high scores for 3-D picture quality
Pros: During our testing, the LG received near perfect scores for high definition, standard definition and 3-D for both dark and bright scenes with scores of 4.5 out of 5 in nearly all categories, The LG required little adjustment of brightness (a 14 percent increase) and no adjustment of contrast or color when placed in ISF mode. This mode provided the most accurate picture settings prior to our calibrations and was developed with the assistance of the Imaging Science Foun...
Excerpt: In this review of the LG 47LX9500 3D TV, we will take a look at a number of new features introduced with the LX9500 series from LG. The 47LX9500 is part of LG’s flagship LX9500 line of 3D ready TVs and it features a gorgeous 47 inch, 480Hz LED backlit LCD display. Other bells and whistles include a Wii like remote called the ‘Magic Wand’ for interacting with the TV and the Clear Voice II feature that enhances the volume and clarity of dialogues in movies and shows...
Excerpt: One thing about the LG Infinia 47LX9500 3D LCD TV stands out beyond everything else: its so-called ‘Borderless’ design makes it look absolutely gorgeous. When it’s running, the picture extends almost all the way to the edges. There is only 16mm of black framing above and to the left and right of the picture. From my usual sitting position, the image almost seemed to be floating there, independently of any device to produce it.
Pros: Superb black levels, Excellent 2D picture quality, Truly impressively thin frame around picture
Summary: There was a time when people had the black and white TV sets to give them company but it seems that time has long passed as these days people have an endless option of LCD, LED, Plasma, 3D, HDTV and so on. Basically we need something to cheer us up and give us valuable entertainment. Over the years the definition of entertainment has changed by leaps and bounds and this is again the sole reason that we see so many different forms of TV sets available these days.
LG's best LED TV has deep contrast levels and great picture quality
Good Gear Guide.au
3 April 2011
Summary: LG's best 3D LED television is an excellent all-rounder apart from its mediocre display of 3D content. It has excellent picture quality and a very high contrast ratio, and offers some very well implemented video-on-demand features. Apart from the form-before-function glossy screen and occasional minor backlight cloudiness, the 47LX9500 is an excellent LED television that is among the best on the market.
Pros: Great image quality and contrast levels, solid video-on-demand implementation
Cons: Mediocre 3D implementation, reflective screen (although not terribly so), some backlight cloudiness on high contrast edges
