Summary: We purchased an lg 47 model 47 LN 5200-Ub television. We had it a total of 13 months and the display panel went bad. I understand that we should purchase an extended warranty but you wouldn't expect a television to go out in that short of a time. For us to get it fixed is more than the tv is worth.
Summary: The TV in and of itself is great. However, it's now 2015 and there are other TVs that are much better and worth the investment. This particular one is very choosy when streaming a movie from either my Chomecast or Apple TV. I wish I had known that this TV isn't capable of streaming with other devices as I would have purchased something else entirely. LG should really consider implementing software updates for their older models.
Summary: The picture was great but it lasted only a few months of occasional use before the picture went completely out. Now it's a large radio. I'm very disappointed. Thought LG would be a better product.
Summary: After one year, set still going strong. It appears some break-in helped the picture quality, some very minor weirdness out of the box has apparently gone away over time. Quick to turn on. The speakers are junk, but I was expecting to use the home theater stereo anyway. For what I paid on Cyber Monday I can't complain. Picture quality is really good considering it's a budget model. Very little bleeding at the edges and good sharpness. Colors are vivid and don't bleed.
Recall Issues, But Great Customer Service and Free Repair
29 July 2014
Summary: TV has recall issue with it turning off and on on it's own. Excellent customer service though, they came and fixed it within 48 hours of calling, no charge. If you don't mind the inconvenience of having it repaired (again was no charge and quick) then I recommend this tv. If you are looking for out of the box, worry free- then you might want to consider spending a little bit more and avoiding this tv.
