Summary: I'm going to keep this short, but in summary - not worth the money - the network connectivity is not really working and it's NOT DLNA compliant. You as might as well just buy a cheaper TV and an external box or buy a different brand. Here's why: Positive: 1) Customer support is really friendly - although unless you get the highest level reps (who only the TV repair guy can call) they're pretty much incompetent.
Summary: I have to say, this is the best purchase I've made in quite some time. I researched TV's for a month before hesitantly ordering this one. I'm so happy with it... 1) The set up was simple. Plug it in, let it acquire TV channels, watch! 2) Internet connectivity is a snap and it is awesome. I expected poor performance on this feature because my internet connection, which is considered broadband, is slow compared to most broadband speeds (I'm very rural).
Summary: I just purchased this television the other day, on sale at Fry's for $895. This is a really great deal, in my opinion. NetFlix works amazingly; the TV does show the limits of the quality of some of the Netflix videos. Some of the Netflix content is HD.....and it looks great. I want to address that fact that the reviewer stated that you can't stream video over your network. Maybe at the time of the review, you could not, but I can tell you it does......without a doubt.
Summary: This TV is fantastic! I was originally looking at a lower LG model, but Amazon had a great price! This TV arrived in less than a week and set-up was a breeze. There's a quick wizard to walk through, and once completed, you're up and running. The Internet connectivity was as simple as plugging in a network cable to the back of the TV.
Summary: I bought this at Fry's for 899...i'm in California..so that takes it up to 1100 dollars with tax and recycling fee. The tv is awesome. The thing I like most about it is playing xvid/divx from a usb thumb drive/hard drive. I do that very often. I also like streaming Netflix movies. The picture quality is great. Sound is pretty decent. I also use the tv to watch local hd sports. I connect the tv to hd through an Antennas Direct C4. This gives awesome hd clarity.
Summary: ONLY BUY THIS IF IT IS BELOW $1100 OR YOU WANT THE NET FLIX/U TUBE FEATURES. This TV lists for $1600, but is often available for less than that. The picture quality is not equal to competing $1600 TVs (like the Samsung...or just about any other brand). This TV is often on sale in the $900 to $1200 range. When the price is below $1100, it may be difficult to find any other 47" TV that cheap.
Summary: I bought this tv because of the netcast/netflix internet option. The netflix takes a second to come setup and works great. The audio on this tv is great for a LCD. The color are pretty good but the blacks are light especially in dark scenes (this is my only compliant). Also there is some concerns that cnet.com pointed out in regard to how this tv processes 1080p.
Summary: Love the picture. Moved up from a 19inch $100 APEX. Would like to know more about settings that others are using to get the best picture quality and Advanced Control menu. Right now I'm viewing in 16:9. Picture mode is standard. I do notice a Audio sync issue when using an HDMI cable and I've tried a couple. Have contacted LG about this issue. Paid $899 at FRY's-1 Day Sale.
Summary: I don't know what else to say. It arrived at my door the first day of a 6 day shipping window. Set-up was simple and straight forward. The TV is not particularly heavy. And the ability to watch Netflix is great. There isn't a lot of content on instant play yet but this will be in my home for years to come. This is my first non-crt TV so I don't have much to compare the picture to. But for $1500 I can't complain about the hardware.
