Summary: TV ran great with a nice 1080p picture, although the black levels were very off. I say 'ran' because after about 1.5 years of normal use the HDMI ports stopped inputting protected signals. Now my 680$ TV works over (LMFAO) component video only, because my HDCP chip appears to be fried. I can still stream from a laptop via HDMI, but it does not display normal protected sources such as PS3's so it is essentially useless.
Summary: We tried this as a used rent to own model. My boyfriend and I are gamers and we do NOT recommend because the picture quality is terribly faded on movies and games. Black levels are muted and the whole of the picture quality leaves much to be desired for the price. Even trying to tweak the options, Lucas Arts and Square Enix titles which hold the standard for graphics quality come out dithered and pixelated.
Have had this for almost a year and couldn't be happier.

Summary: I bought this LCD in December of '09. I ended up narrowing down to the 46" inch range due to size limitations of where I was putting this (replacement for a large rear-projection that was built-in to a wall and I wanted to build this into that spot). First and foremost, I wanted great picture quality and wanted to stay in a set budget. This LCD hit the mark and its size sealed the deal.
Summary: This is the first HDTV I have ever purchased. It certainly won't be the last. I thought I would have to buy a new stereo system to go with it, but the speakers are incredible. The picture is awesome, as well. Shipped quickly, and was easy to set up. The only complaint I have is that it doesn't "agree" with some of the settings on my cable box. Think it's more the fault of the cable box, and I still get all of my HD channels on the settings that do work.
Summary: When they first made this TV and when every profession review of this TV was made, it was an awesome TV. Then without telling anyone, LG switched panels from their own LG made high quality IPS panel to a AUO non-IPS middle of the road panel. It was still a good TV, but not close to the earlier ones. Then right before I bought this TV, LG switched out the panels again to a very low quality, bottom of the barrel Chi-Mei panel.
Excerpt: With a picture wizard feature that is there one can easily control the many facets of the picture. Frankly, I have not seen this much control on the picture previously in any other television . Certainly, when it comes to picture then it is better that any other HDTV available in the market. Though, it would be frustrating to learn to control the picture but with more dexterity on calibrations one can experience amazement coming out of this television .
Summary: I consider myself an information hound. I am the type of person who researches model numbers and such before buying just about anything. The first thing that caught my eye about this LG LCD was admittedly the price. $750 for a 47inch lcd, are you for real? Then I was concerned that this was an older model with less features or substandard specs for this price.
Summary: This is a great tv!!! I shopped for over 3 months both on the internet and in stores to make sure I was getting the best for my money before I made my purchase. I am very glad that I ultimatley chose this LG 47LH30. The HD looks amazing on this tv and the price is fair for an upper echelon brand like LG. If you are in the market for a new HD tv, I really think you should have a look at this one because it is 5 star quality all around.
Great quality picture - lacks the sound without a boost

Summary: This set is extremely easy to use, has all the right parts and truly looks great when fired up. The sound is a little lacking, but thats only because I am still running stock sound. Other than that, I am extremely happy with this purchase and would buy another LG in a heartbeat.
Summary: The TV came from 6th Ave electronics, who were quick and prompt to ship it out. I received it in 4 business days, which I thought was very quick for the regular ground mail, and even more impressive when I saw what kind of business they used to ship the free shipping. I'll explain that below. The TV came in perfect shape, no scratches, it worked just fine. The picture is beautiful, the sound is good enough for me. I mainly only use it for gaming and the computer.
