Excerpt: We have had our LG HDTV for a couple years now and love it. It is our main television and gets a lot of use. Great picture quality, the HD channels all come in beautifully and movies all look crisp. It's not one of those TVs that you have a hard time seeing if you're not at the exact right angle, which is a nice bonus because then everyone in the room gets to enjoy it. It's a great size for our living room and has held up very nicely.
Excerpt: We've been on the hunt for a flat screen for quite a while, and i'm quite pleased that we decided to purchase this LG TV. We have be impressed again and again with Korean manufacturers and LG has yet to fail to impress us. I have nothing bad to say about this TV. It's a great television. The kids love it, the husband loves it, I love it, I bet the dog loves it too! We watch everything on this TV. We play video games. It has been getting tons of use from our family.
Summary: I saw this in the store and could not beleave the quaility of this LG looks like 3D compared by Samsung and Sony. I was planing on the Samsung until I read all the reviews on how it cuts off by itself, sounds etc. My mind was made up until the Pros satated the same problem. I've had this for over a year now and I still get compliments, great product.
Summary: I have to say that I looked for TV's and researched and did my homework for 3 or so months before finally pulling the trigger on this one. I found it at a good price (about $700 at the time) and that was great for an LG 46" LCD at that time. I bought this in July, and was waiting a while to review it, because I wanted to see if it would die within the first few months. It hasn't, and I'm happy with it. So far, I've only had one issue with it, which I managed to fix.
Summary: Hard to believe I've had this great TV for six months now and even harder to believe how impressive it still is. Top feature for me is the matte screen, which eliminates the high-gloss reflection seen on all big-screen TVs these days. The matte screen and the CFL lighting provide a warmer viewing experience than the stark contrast, in-your-face viewing of the newer LED TVs. Picture quality on this set is superb.
Summary: Welp, after months of research and deal shopping (online and every electronics store you can think of), I finally pulled the trigger on this LG and couldn't be more pleased with my decision. I bought it for $799 at Micro Center after seeing it go for upwards of $1,000 elsewhere (including Amazon). I haven't even accessed the Internet features because I'm already streaming Netflix through XBOX 360, which brings me to my next point.
Summary: The 46" LG 550LCD Television is the perfect size for a 16'x16' room. The larger sets would be overwhelming for this room, but this set is perfect. I have the 46 inch and I love it. I wanted one with last years tech, instead of the new LED backlighting. The LED lighting is fine, but more expensive. I will probably order the 42" of this model, as well.
Summary: I LOVE THIS 46" LG, THE HD PICTURE IS EXCELLENT, I LOVE AND USE THE WIDGETS AND THE NETCAST. IT HANGS BEAUTIFULLY ON MY WALL, THINNER THAN MY SHARP AQUAS. MY FRIEND ALSO HAS IT IN 42" AND I ALSO RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE.
Summary: I feel like I'm a little premature in writing this because I do not have internet or a full HD device hooked up to it yet :( That being said, I did a lot of shopping around for HDTV's before settling on this one, and I am confident it is the best bang for your buck for this caliber of device. Like I said, I have not used the internet applications (yet), but rest assured the features and attributes vs. price for this HDTV is top notch.
Summary: The TV was purchased for the purpose of viewing NetFlix. It serves this purpose very satisfactorily. HOWEVER, one must also purchase the Dongle (wi-fi receiver gizmo that fits in the TV like a thumb drive fits in a computer)! The NetFlix connection is ready once Wi-Fi, the Dongle and the NetFlix Code (simple to get from NetFlix.com) are in place.
