Summary: My TV also had a power problem as other reviewers had said. I seldom watch TV, so probably I was the last person who recognized this TV had a power failure. I found this problem a couple of weeks ago. At first, I didn't think this TV had a power problem cuz I hadn't turned on TV for a long time. Instead, I thought the batteries died in the remote control. Although I changed the batteries and still TV didn't turned on. And then I finally realized it had a problem.
Summary: Bought this LG 42LV4400 on amazon. worked great for 10 months until sundenly after turning it off and on the next day. it would not turn on. The red light was there showing power however as soon as i push the power button using the remote or the side power button, the power led would blink twice and go dead without turning on. luckly it was still under the one year warranty. i called LG and schedule an in home service.
Summary: i bought this product from best buy and it was simply amazing. the features were great the crystal clear picture was just stunning. I eventually returned the product because the screen just died out and would not turn on anymore but despite that I would recommend to others because you will fall in love with it once you start it up. I was unable to get the same product because they did not have another one but I have a smaller LG and its incredible as well.
Pros: Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality
Summary: I am going to write what i dont like first 1. Picture quality if not as i was expecting. when playing cartoon network i could see the blurry pictures easy to notice. 2. Sound is OK. i had to plug in external speaker to get good quality. but as far as LED tv goes this is common issue. 3. Apps : there are only 4 apps available. i wish there was a way to add more apps using updates. Overall ok. may be worth buying if you dont want to spend big money.
Summary: this tv is a pretty good tv minus the horrible audio. The tv is barely audible at 90. My stereo is louder then this tv at its lowest. The quality is not bad but not great. I can see why this was discontinued.
Summary: I got this TV in november of 2011 around thanksgiving day deals. The first one I got had to be sent back within that week... the tv would be on, but the picture wasn't there, something with the video card. A repair guy came and gave me sage advice that the part would take a few weeks, why not return it to Amazon and get a new one. So I did. It came quickly and happy day the TV worked great. Really good picture, had no problems with it, loved it even.
Summary: This TV performed as expected--good picture, acceptable (barely) sound quality, light-weight, low-energy cool running, and all the connections I need to integrate with my AV system--until it totally failed about six weeks after I set it up (no picture, no sound, nothing but the red standby light). I made an online warranty claim to LG, and five days later I received notice from LG that an in-home service call had been authorized and a service provider identified.
Summary: This is my first LG and purchased it because of the great price. The image quality is great and easy to use. My only problem is the sound quality. I don't know if this is because the speakers are pointing down but I have to really raise the volume up in order to hear the sound at a clear aubilble level. I don't have any hearing issues (tested 6 months ago) but I have to use my home theater speakers in order to watch regular shows which I only like using on movies.
Summary: Great TV. Product was shipped on time; however, there were scratchs and a dent on the front bottom plastic portion of the TV. The components input failed within the first week. I now can only use the HDMI inputs with this TV.
Summary: Like the TV but have a real problem with hearing tv because the sound comes out the rear of unit.Even at 100% it still is hard to hear.It is not wall mounted. This is a real problem for my wife and I. And we might return it.
