Summary: I purchased this TV September 2012 and was pleased at first. Shortly after I noticed the Youtube app did not stream videos properly. I had a 45Mbps internet connection at the time and all of my other devices worked just fine using the same ethernet jack. I dont need Youtube.. I can live with that.
Pros: Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings
Summary: Great TV but had to mark it down primarily for its lack of processing power for digital source playback. My Samsung TVs don't seem to have any trouble with home video playback through Plex but the LG seems to stop and freeze throughout the video.
Summary: After about 16 months the picture started to fail, one side of the picture was like a half moon, grey and then blacked out. Called on the extended warranty that we purchased, because it was past the 1 year manufacturers warranty period.
Summary: Good value, good quality, I'm happy with this TV. Only reason for 4 and not 5 star is the remote is among the worst remotes ever designed. Doesn't fit well in my hand so I use the cable remote primarily.
Summary: I researched Smart TV's for over a year, before buying my LG 42LS5700. Eary Smart TV's were difficult to use and many had limited features. The Best Buy salesperson steered me to the LG and I am very happy with the multiple easy to use features of the unit.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality
Summary: The picture on this tv is stunning, and watching movies is a pure joy. I love every part of the tv that doesn't have to do with the "Smart" part. Approximately six months ago, the tv started losing the internet connection every time the tv was turned off.
