Excerpt: I recently went out TV shopping and am very happy about the choice I made. I purchased the LG 42 inch clad HDTV. The whole look and feel of the TV called out to me the first time I laid eyes on it.
Summary: The connection to the ribbons on half of the screen fails, replacement cost very expensive. Not worth the tv. Tons of reviews and issues all over the internet having the same problem, partial screen failures and expensive repairs. LG will not stand behind this product, out of pocket repair costs. Great price up front, lots of problems and expense upon purchase...
Summary: This TV was a great price at the time of purchase and delivers a beautiful picture. The HDMI-5 ports worked wonderfully and I've used ever connecter on the back of this thing. I really love this tv even though 42" isn't very big by standards now. The only thing I would change is that the remote is a little tough to respond and the sensor could have been on the tip of the tv vs the bottom but I'm not going to split hairs. My next TV will be an LG.
Excerpt: I bought this Tv in the beginning of 2010 and so far I do not have any problems with it. The Tv itself is very good in terms of brightness and contrast. It was also very easy to set up as all I had to do is to take the Tv out of the box and mount it onto the stand. There are many preset picture brightness/contrast combinations for different programs such as sports, cinema movies, reguar TV and gaming to prevent burn-ins in the screen.Same thing for the sound.
Excerpt: Wow. When the first HD TV's came out I really couldn't tell much of the difference between them and my old standard television at home. I had a 40 in sony big box television and the picture was always clear and what I thought was detailed. Then I bought this LG 42 in super television and I think they should go back to putting alot of making on actors, wow!
Excerpt: I recently bought this from LG - LG 42in LCD HD TV (42LH30) ****from Fry's. Some of the features include the following: It has amazing picture quality. Outstanding colors, several buil-in video settings, Great performance, Energy Saving, Lighter than most other TVs, Outstanding PC screen view & very good Sound quality. It has 3 HDMI inputs. I was comparing with Sony, Sharp, Panasonic, Samsung, etc., This is the best I got for a very nice price.
Excerpt: I was fed up with my old CRT 27". It was big and bulky and the picture was so fuzzy, I could not read any small text on it anymore. I found this LG 42" on sale and bought it several months ago. The picture on it is nice and clear. I love playing games on it with my Xbox360. There are 3 HDMI ports you can hook devices up to. I use another for my computer. All you need is a HDMI to DVI cable. It comes in handy for watching movies or playing games.
Excerpt: I was in the market for a TV late last year having used a 19" tube for the last 6 years. I decidedly waited until the plasma and LCD technologies reached a stable/mature stage where they are now before jumping in. I got the LG 42LH30 for a great price @ a local Fry's and was thrilled I can get a 42" 1080p for about $550 out the door. At that point I knew nothing about flat screen TV's so I had to start from scratch.
