Summary: Bought my 42LG50 in 2008 when circuit city was going out of business. Got a deal on it for $800, with the risk of no return possible. I am a gamer, and in 2008 the system I was playing on (PS2), transferring to a 360, didn't have 1080p options (360 eventually updated to support 1080p).
Summary: Ok so i bought this TV in Oct 2010. Been almost 2 years and even though it is only 15000:1 ratio, and LCD; it does better than those currect 4M:1 ratio LED's out there! Sound is perfect and NO LAG with any surround sound system that i have encountered.
Summary: We've had this TV for just over two years. About six months ago a black line showed up on the right hand side of the screen. Soon, two more lines appeared in the same area. About two months ago, a shadow appeared on the same side of the screen.

Summary: Loves this set. Purchased it Election Day 2008. Easy to use/program. Picture: awesome! Just make sure that you have your resolution set to 1080p, since the default setting is on 1080i. Sound: what were they thinking? The sound is very distorted on high bass sound (suspense and thriller movies).
Summary: In an attempt to save a little money and get what I thought was a good tv, I purchased this LG tv a year and a half ago. The picture is great, the sound is less desirable (I use my stereo for sound), but now, the remote doesn't work. Really!?
Summary: I use the TV for both my computer monitor and cable TV.It does both very well. The picure is great and it is very versitle. There are plenty of inputs for any thing you want to use it for. The only 2 cons.1 the sound is poor, external speakers are a must.2 the remote works slowly.
Summary: If you own a PS3 and want to connect it to this TV, DON'T BUY THIS TV. I also have issues with the PS3 Blu-ray player even with Composite cables. It is extremely frustrating. I bought a $900 + TV and I am only able to use it to watch HD programming through cable. Beware!!!!!
