Excerpt: I really tried to make myself like this TV. Trying it for seven days I decided to return it. It is just that bad! Even with the tilt wall mount it still isn't good. The blacks are still very gray and there is so much bright gray coming thru the LCD panel that it just washes out everything and lights up the lower half of my bedroom brightly, even when there's no picture displayed. Blacks become gray and colors very washed out.
Problem with TV after one year - Stay Away from this Company, LG's customer service poor
19 March 2012
Summary: We loved the TV when it was working. One month after the warranty expired the tv began to flicker. LG extended the warranty as a courtesy. The TV was repaired. Less than five months later the same exact problem came back. LG said that our TV was out of warranty and would not repair it..."but it's the same problem again, I reasoned." I kept my cool and was professional in my dealing with them. I said, "Ok, how about this...let's at least split the repair bill.
Summary: Great TV but the power supply problem that seems all too common has turned it into nothing but a blank, black frame on my wall. The first time it broke it was under warranty. Got it replaced. Broke again a week after the warranty ran out. Do yourself a favor and don't let the low-price fool you. LG's are rampant with problems.
Summary: Amazon did a great job of fulfilling the order just before Christmas 2010, the TV looked great, it sounded great, and performed flawlessly, until it popped and died two days ago. It was a couple months out of warrantee, of course. It seems as though the power supply has gone bad. I'm going to attempt a fix but I suspect I'll be money ahead by just throwing it (and the $500 I spent on it) in the trash. Don't throw your money away too. Buy something else.
Summary: After five weeks it developed a thin bright vertical line down the middle, too late to send back to Amazon. Now I have to wait 1 week to sit around from 8-12 waiting for the LG repairman to come. UPDATE: After waiting in a 4 hour "window" for the repairman, he took one look at it, said the screen was broken and he needed permission to order another one, and it would take a week, so we set up another 4 hour "window" for him to come fix it.
Summary: Top right part of the screen (rectangle like) became discolored and the entire screen got grainy. Shows up even on the picture setup option built into the TV. Worked great till this happened. Of course it happened on Jan 31st (end of return policy) and now I have to deal with LG support (wish me luck) rather then have Amazon take it back. Unlucky enough to get a defective tv and unlucky enough to have it break on Jan 31st.
Summary: I recently bought this TV from J&R and had an horrible experience. On the first day everything was fine: the TV was working and the image quality is indeed really nice. However, one week after I installed it, the TV just went blank. I've contacted LG's support center and they told me that I couldn't get a replacement TV - although my purchase was just a week old - and I had to wait for a technician, which would come to my house only in the following week.
LG 42" LD450 TELEVISOR CON FALLOS EN EL SINTONIZADOR
9 July 2010
