Summary: Basically, I wish I hadn't bought it. The size is nice, the audio is decent, but the following issues spoil the overall appreciation: Picture ratio defects on a LOT of programs are all over the map- vertically crunched way below screen size, natural height but not expanded to make use of the screen, a very few programs with natural height filling the vertical space and letting the width fall where it may ( to me the only way you ever want to see it).
Summary: Getting the tv configured and set up was easy. However, after about 3 weeks of off and on use, it stopped working in the middle of using it. It just shut off and wouldn't power up. It's plugged into a UPS and there was no type of surge. LG put me in touch with a local technician who came out. As a precaution, I hired an electrician to come out and check my electric and he determined everything looked fine.
Summary: I recently bought this TV from J&R and had an horrible experience. On the first day everything was fine: the TV was working and the image quality is indeed really nice. However, one week after I installed it, the TV just went blank. I've contacted LG's support center and they told me that I couldn't get a replacement TV - although my purchase was just a week old - and I had to wait for a technician, which would come to my house only in the following week.
