    The LG 42LD450 is an unremarkable budget screen that is competent enough in some areas to offer reasonably good value for money. Excellent colour reproduction is compromised to some degree by an average black level performance. Read more

    While we purchased the 37" version, apparently all the units in the "LD450" series have a particular "lack"--no AV outputs with the older style RCA plugs. This means no way to hook up to any external sound system unless that system has a digital optical audio input. This may sound minor until you find out just how many of those systems still do not have a digital optical input. From my standpoint, this really takes an otherwise good TV down a couple of notches.     Set up plug in & worked after set up. Best picture without using HI defintion. I do have don`t need. Nice that swivals. Great to move where you need. Sound was not what expected for LG. till fooled around with. Great Product perfect size for smaller or bigger room. Can turn watch from kitchen. Can`t beat price bought on sale. Pice compared to cheaper TV`s the same. Read more

    I use this TV primarily for gaming on my PS3 and occassionally for movies. If you are looking for an excellent gaming TV for a very reasonable price, look no further. Input lag performance on this TV is excellent and the picture quality is more than good enough to showcase the modern gaming console's graphics capabilities. Blu-ray movies look decent at best on this set. The black level performance is somewhat below average. Read more

    I am old school. the old tv picture eg. tube in my eyes was the best. new lcd tv are ok. but my new lg 42inch lcd tv ld450 1080p hd ready with freeview is the best. Y the picture on sky hd when tv programs like x factor are on. it feels like you can put your hand into the picture. Read more

LG 42LD450

The LG 42LD450 is a 42 inch LCD TV that supports Full HD 1080p output in its form factor. The LCD HDTV supports TruMotion 120Hz performance for reduced motion blur, comes with NetCast Entertainment Access, USB Video DLNA and has wireless broadband ready capabilities. It is a HDTV that is Energy Star® 4.0 qualified.

Features

The LG 42LD450 LCD TV supports Full HD 1080p output with detailed local dimming of up to 240 addressable segments resulting in deeper black levels and uniform picture quality. The LG 42LD450 also features TruMotion 120Hz for reduced motion blur during fast moving action sequences. Other features on the LCD TV includes Clear Voice II which is an enhancement to Clear Voice technology and customizes the volume settings by 12 distinct voice zoom levels without diminishing other surrounding sounds. This optimizes dialogue during action sequences. It also features AV Mode II which includes three AV modes preset to optimize picture and sound settings based on Cinema, Sports or Game content, and can be initiated with the included remote control. The 42LD450 also supports Picture Wizard which provides users with a seven-step calibration process that allows them to change picture settings on their own.

  • dark picture

    any suggestions on enhancing the overall brightness of the picture?...the only luck we have had is setting the picture to "vivid"? will this hurt the TV if on all the time? any other settings I can tweak that might get the poicture brighter? The LCD is connected ONLY to coaxial through Comcast Cable, so NO HDMI..thanks ahead
