Summary: It's a real shame that a mostly-decent company in LG is pulling a fast one with this. It's even more of a shame that Newegg (and all other retailers) are putting up with it. I'm sure with the 45-lbs box being shipped back and forth from coast-to-coast, Newegg has accumulated a hefty UPS bill due to...
Pros: Newegg service, always ready to help.
Cons: As clearly documented among the rest of these reviews, the problem with this model is LG's dirty bait-and-switch maneuver. I received the "-DLUR" VA panel twice. I RMA'd the first one for a replacement, and simply refused to accept the -DLUR replacement. Keep in mind if you do take the plunge, ac...
Summary: continuation of post... Not the customer service that I would expect. If all you have is the model with the "D" in the model number then say so on your website. With today's technology...barcode scanners, RFID etc. I do not buy the excuse that "we do not know what we have".
Summary: I ordered the LG 37 5300 hoping for the IPS panel but when it arrived the model number on the box had the dreaded "D" and not the IPS "W"...so I refused delivery. I contacted customer service to see if there was any way to verify the order if I tried again to make sure that the IPS panel would be...
Cons: Not being able to get the product that I want...see comments.
Summary: This is the second LG display I purchased within a few weeks and both had incorrect specifications. The viewing angle spec on this item is a pipe dream. Stay away from this item unless you can guarantee the IPS panel it was designed for.
Pros: The best thing about this purchase is Newegg's great treatment on the merchandise return.
Cons: Horrible picture quality, nothing like the one with the IPS panel I saw before buying. I bought this to use at close range on a desktop, color variation between one side of the screen and the other are huge. In a dark room, flashlight effect completely washes out the picture detail on the angled ...
Summary: I have owned another LG LCD TV for almost 5 years. It had a built in DVR. The hard drive failed on that one after about 6 months. It was repaired, then about 9 months later it died again. I have an external DVR now so I never bothered getting it fixed. What has happened to LGs quality?
Pros: Like the title says. It was great while it lasted.
Cons: Died after 2 days of use. Had the local service shop which handles warranty work for LG pick it up. After 4 days, they determined it was a bad power supply. After they put that in, they then found a fried main board and the panel was toast as well. At this point I want a new TV.
Summary: Pay for the better shipping, but for items like this you have to sign to take possession and once you sign and open the box then you're stuck with the item or have to pay a lot more on shipping to return than New Egg paid to ship to you.
Pros: Like LED TV's and price was $300 less than BB or WM. Sound is great without speakers and picture is good.
Cons: Shipping through UPS sucks. Box corners were all crushed, but didn't want to wait for another TV to be shipped and possibly receive the VA panel one that others have received. Opened the box and the frame housing is fractured on all 4 corners. TV doesn't seem to be affected and so keeping it.
Summary: I specifically asked for same make and model or I will be asking for full refund and shop elsewhere. Update after new unit arrives.
Pros: Newegg customer service is AWESOME!! cant imagine shopping any where else.
Cons: Cracked unit after UPS was so nice enough to use this in a punt pass and kick contest. If unit has any sort of cracks, dents or scratches the warranty is VOID. I must now play the lotto again and hope for the best. I was willing to keep the unit "As is" but i spent money for the warranty that is n...
Cons: Refused shipping as I received the inferior VA panel. I did a lot of research and it just doesnt seem worth it to receive an inferior product when others receive the IPS version. Not sure why some people say that refusing shipping generates a new item from NEWEGG because it does not. Pretty sure ...
