good value, mediocre picture

ktbos, LG Electronics Ratings and Reviews

  • Summary: The picture quality isn't as good as I would have liked. It's a little fuzzy especially compared to my 5 year old plasma that is hooked up to the same feed. Putting them in the same room with the same feed next to each other, the LG LCD is definitely fuzzier. On the other hand, it's much cheaper, much lighter, and much thinner so it works well for its intended use as a second room TV. The on-screen menus are easy to use and the remote is really good too.
  • Pros: Style/Design, easy to use

constant buzzing

  • Summary: unfortuantely whilst this tv does have a reasonable picture for the price the constant buzzing caused by the back light is infuriating. The buzzing can be lessened by setting the back light to below 45 but then the picture is much too dark.I have looked at many reviews since and this same problem is mentioned many many times. Not one to recommend im afraid!

  • Summary: Don't be taken in by the tech details. This has NOT got freeview HD. Manual is rubbish as LG expects everyone to have and use a pc. The second hdmi input is on the side, not on the back panel with the first hdmi. Nice looking black unit and picture definitely needs a lot of tweaking before it's watch-able. For the price it's a decent unit.. but even the cheapest plasma rips this to bits. Bought this for someone else...
