Summary: "i was really excited about buying this TV set. it had a fantastic picture, lots of features, it had wireless access to the internet, etc. unfortunately it only lasted 11 months before the screen went black. i have no idea what happened. this situation is unusual for a LG product. at least they are honoring the warranty. i have no idea how they're going to fix this thing since most modern consumer electronics are of the throw-away nature.
Summary: Not as 'internet ready' as you might want. No Smart TV here. I settled on this model being misled by published info showing the Hulu icon with some LG TVs. For those who purchased 42 inch models and up may have updated software that includes this feature, there is no update for this particular model. One is stuck with the bundle of programs it comes with. When one thinks: 'internet', one envisions browser control. No such luck.
Summary: The TV automatically updates its software. The software updates require an ethernet connection. Without an ethernet connection, it gets maybe 50% through and then stops, cycling over and over again. This is a huge issue if you have the TV wall mounted, because the ethernet port can only be accessed by dismounting the TV. Called LG tech support who acknowledged the issue, but basically said it was not their problem.
Summary: Granted, this is a decent TV at a decent price. That said, I'm beyond angry about it because it doesn't have wireless. The description above says, "Wireless 1080p ready." Let me translate that claim for prospective buyers: This TV is not wireless 1080p ready. It is unable to access wireless networks unless you spend more money. You must purchase a USB dongle that lists for $79 (it's cheaper on amazon).
Summary: Had this tv lg32ld550 for almost 2 months ,watching it one evening it just cuts off, tried everything to restart including directione from lg service center no help,So now waiting for service ,my comment unbelievable my appointment is on jan 31 will repost and let you know what happened.wont buy lg again even if they fix it cause how can you pay for new and it breaks down already.
Summary: I'm stunned at how many people are shilling for this TV. Having given in to the hype I bought one. It boots up and tells me I can't watch NetFlix unless I update the software. It gets to 2% then shuts off the update. I have been trying several times a day now to get it to update, and only after two weeks of trying did it finally reach 100% and reboot itself with the new software update.
Summary: Buyer beware. I purchased this TV 2-1/2 months ago, and the TV has worked for a grand total of 1 hour. It took 30 days for LG to ship the replacement motherboard. We watched a movie for an hour and the thing blew again. It has now been 2 weeks since the service technician ordered another motherboard. No word as to when it might show up.
Summary: I purchased this TV specifically because it was internet enabled. A month later, three technicians to my home, twenty calls to LG, fifteen hours of troubleshooting on the phone later, and it still cannot connect. Sent TV and DOngle back for replacements, and the new ones wont connect either. LG's only solution is to replace motherboards on band new TV's. I am beyond frustrated and customer service at LG doesn't seem to care.
Summary: I liked the features and price of this TV. Unfortunately, after using it for about a week, the video went out (vertical bars). I contacted LG's warranty service, and they promised to send someone to my home in two days to fix it. They gave me the name and phone number of a local company that does their warranty claims. 10 days later, after the company said they were still waiting for parts to come in, I told them to cancel the order, and I sent the TV back to Amazon.
Summary: Not impressed at all with this set. We bought this TV as the Deal of the Day from Amazon. Thank goodness for Amazon's return policy because it was returned within a few weeks of its purchase when the set began turning itself off spontaneously. We researched on line a bit and discovered the problem was not unique to our set, so we opted to not have the set replaced but were issued a full refund.
