Iiyama ProLite G2773HS-GB1: the ultimate gaming monitor
31 August 2012
Excerpt: Iiyama created a pretty unique monitor with the ProLite G2773HS-GB1, with a refresh rate of 120 Hz but no 3D compatibility. The high refresh rate serves a single purpose, and that is to deliver the quickest response time possible. It is supposed to make the 27-inch ProLite G2773HS-GB1 the ultimate gaming monitor that money can buy. Hardware.Info tested it to find out how ultimate it really is.
Conclusion: Iiyama's G2773HS 27in, 120Hz monitor is the company's stab at making a large screen for the PC gamer. Perhaps missing a trick in not providing 3D compatibility with NVIDIA or 3D GPU technology, yet benefitting financially by not doing so, the £300 screen is merely average as a straightforward display but rather better for the avid gamer who wants lightning-quick visual response from frenetic key-presses and mouse movements.
Conclusion: I think Iiyama have achieved well what they set out to do. They have produced a large size, responsive screen ideal for gamers, but with some cost savings compared with the competition. The screen had impressed us with its excellent pixel response times, support of 120Hz refresh rates and low input lag. This could certainly be considered a good gamers screen.
Pros: Excellent pixel responsiveness, 120Hz refresh rate support ideal for fast gaming and improved frame rates, Decent range of connectivity options
Cons: Poor default setup, needs calibrating, Limitations of TN Film panel technology, particularly with viewing angles, No native 3D support
Excerpt: Iiyama’s latest creation is a no-frills 27in, Full HD monitor with a 120Hz refresh rate that should make it ideal for playing games. The G2773HS is far from the best looking monitor we’ve seen – the chunky black plastic bezel is rather plain, as is the matching stand. The glossy plastic attracts fingerprints, and the entire screen wobbles when nudged. There’s a small amount of screen tilt, but no rotation or height adjustment.
Conclusion: oferuje prostą i stylową obudowę wykonaną z błyszczącego czarnego plastyku.
