The HP LC3700N is one of the three models in the LCN series, which offer flat panel LCD. The LC3700N has a native resolution of 1,366x768; as a result it can resolve every detail of 720p material. The HP Pavilion HP LC3700N is stylish as well as a good performer. It has a built-in ATSC tuner and a CableCard slot, so that you can receive over-the-air HDTV and digital cable without having to use any external hardware. The HP LC3700N has a DVI input, an HDMI port, two component-video inputs, and two i-Link inputs. Measuring at 37-inches their overall feature sets are good, although the price is on the higher side.

First impressions are not just essential in life but also for choosing a LCD television. The LC3700N creates a good first impression with its glossy, piano-black bezel, which is quite eye catching. It also has side-mounted matte-finished speakers, which have an aesthetic value to it. Moving away from looks, the basic TV controls are easy to understand and operate and is located within reach. The HP LC3700N has integrated TV tuners for both analog and digital use.

The remote is also user friendly and the buttons are clearly labeled with a backlit in blue. One of the salient points is that the brightness can be optimized to reduce strain in the eyes. According to tests performed on the LC3700N, it has been seen that the primary and secondary color accuracy is almost near perfect but there exists an inaccuracy in color uniformity across the dynamic range (from black to white). The good news is that the color performance of the analog and the digital inputs are consistent and you will not be able to make much difference unless you sit up close and try to watch every detail.

C-NET advices that this is a good television in its range but there is a lot more that can be done to make it one of the best.
