Summary: I purchased the ultravision 42 inch version late 2006, Now it is almost 2013 and knock on wood, This tv has had NO problems at all, still looks as good today as the day it was delivered, I hooked it up to my Bose system and it is just amazing to say the least! Now I wish I could get a 65 inch version.
Summary: I purchased this TV for about $1200 almost 5 years ago. It was my first plasma and I can't complain much. It lasted my this long and it finally went out a few weeks ago. I would've loved to have it for a few more years but I guess it' time to let it go. To fix it, it will cost about $300 and for that price it's best to just get a new TV. Volume and picture were pretty good if you ask me and never had any problems with the TV until recently..it will be missed.
Decent TV for the money, not up to par for a true home theater though.

Summary: I bought this TV from Best Buy a few years ago for Appx $1,400, which was a great deal for what it supposedely offered. I did a ton of research and was hard pressed to find anything that cam close for the money. I didn't get to see the picture in person prior to purchasing. When I got it all set up I was extremely disappointed. The built in speakers are a joke, but hey with a TV this size your going to have surround sound anyway. The picture did not seem HD at all.
Summary: Like all flat panel TV's or ones that I have seen, the speakers are just okay. I hooked up my computer $30 speakers one time and they are both louder and cleaner. Otherwise, I have enjoyed this TV for the last few years. About the only other thing is if you wall mount the TV, its very difficult to get to the connections/inputs on the backside. And I have had it wall mounted, mounted on a pedestal, and now its on a TV stand. I think its a great TV.
Summary: For the money, great television. Not a 1080P but unless you are watching a Blu-Ray your not getting 1080P anyways. Nice size in my living room (20x30). Room is well lit during the day so LCD would probably be better but I watch TV mostly at night which is good Plasma time.
Summary: I've had this tv for almost a year and I've had no problems with it. Good color/sound, the price was right for the time ($1600) and it's held up really well. The speakers are kind of weak but that's what surround sound is for. This tv is hard to beat for the money- a good quality product with good resolution and a good price point. There are better deals out there NOW but this is still a good bang for the buck!
Summary: I purchased this exact model in August 2007 from Amazon. Now, in April 2008 there is plenty of screen burn such as the CNBC logo and the HIstory Channel logo. I called Hitachi to check the warranty and screen burn is not covered under warranty. Hitachi just said sorry, you have to live with it or buy another one. I will NEVER buy a Hitachi again. Another huge complaint is the remote.
Summary: This is an awesome television. I highly recommend it. The picture quality is amazing. The high definition capabilities has to be seen to be appreciated. The overall external appearance is very sleek and ultramodern.
