Summary: I bought this TV (Hitachi Model: L42S504) almost 2 years ago. Out of the box, I kept getting statical noise that would occur randomly and sporadically, never able to quite predict when it would happen. Sometimes we thought the noise was so bad that the TV would explode! Anyways, after patiently waiting almost a year, to see if it would go away, and maybe out of laziness, I finally called Hitachi customer service to get this fixed under the 1 year warranty.
Summary: I purchased this tv last november and its the best $$$ ive spent so far. This tv is amazing! Some movies look 3D if u have a HD tuner. Blu ray movies look VERY life like almost like ur looking at something thru a window. If ur considering buying an LED tv I would reccomend looking at this tv 1st..People always ask me why does my tv look like that!
Summary: Its big , its beautiful and it makes all my movies look fake! We finally had to turn the HD off and watch everything is regular definition. Its is so crisp and clear , you can literally see right through the special effects on the older movies. So We learned to watch those mostly on the 5 Year old Hitchachi we have. It is a awesome TV, I just dont think I like HD. I must be the only one in history to say that.
Summary: Like many other reviews (from other sites) I too have the dreaded "flashlight" effect on this tv and it is noticable during dark scenes. I can turn the backlight down and it helps but then the overall picture is too dark. Too bad because this TV has the best picture I ever saw for an LCD except for the backlight bleeding into the top two corners. All my LCD tv's have this to some extent but this is the worst.
Summary: Very happy with the product and the speed of delivery. Also, not paying sales tax or shipping is freakin sweet. The only problem was that the box was open when I received the package. The TV was fine, but it was a bit unprofessional.
Summary: I bought this a few months ago and I think it's a great TV. I play a lot of Xbox 360 and PS3 games on it and it's great for that too. I'm still trying to get the settings optimal but even how it is now it looks great. The only issue I have seen so far with it is some slightly "cloudy" corners where it's whiter than the rest of the screen, but you can only really tell when it's turned on with no signal. Overall it's a great TV for the price I got it at.
Summary: I bought this 42" TV for the bedroom, and it's by far the best looking TV in the house. HD quality is amazing, and my Blu-Rays look fantastic. The 120Hz makes a real difference in sports and action movies. The SD quality is pretty good as well as long as it's hooked up over an HDMI or component video hookup. Coaxial or RCA hookup leaves a lot to be desired. In short, I highly recommend this TV if you have an HDMI or Component hookup.
Summary: 4 HDMI inputs, 120hz for the price of regular 60hz 42 lcd tv's USB for tv firmware update. I recommend you visit their website and grab the latest update, made the picture look better and gave you extra setting to adjust. Great over the air HD and cable ready tv built in tuner. I'm very happy with this tv, with the picture quality, sound and weight. One thing about these lcd's the speaker are always in the back!
Summary: The TV is very slick. I wasn't sure what I thought about 120 hz, because of the look it gives TV shows. I usually leave it on low and like how it looks. Hooked up PS3 and HD channels to it. Everything looks great. Very happy with my purchase.
Summary: I shopped around awhile for a 40-42 inch TV and decided on this one. I think the picture on this is better than the Sony and Toshiba I have owned. Its 1080p, 120Hz, 4ms response time, and it has 4hdmi's, 7hd inputs all together and I got it for $599 shipped. The backlighting is a little strong but you can adjust it to your liking, there is plenty of setting options.
