Summary: While the audio doesn't have the full bass of a real subwoofer, you can definitely hear the TV without having to turn it up high, and quality is very pleasing. The ports (inputs), especially S-Video, are the real reason why I bought this TV. It has them all! I currently have a PS2 (through S-Video) and a Wii (through component) hooked up to this TV. The picture quality is certainly not bad. I'd say Super Mario 64 (played on a Wii) looks fantastic in widescreen format.
Summary: I have bought two of these and wish I bought more. The sound is really strong compared with other tv's this size. It is too bad not available new but at used it is still better than most new ones.
Summary: WORKS GREAT - JUST WHAT WE NEEDED PURCHASED @ THE END OF '09 -PRICE UNDER $400 WITH COUPON STILL GOING STRONG. FANTASTIC SOUND TONS OF INPUTS/HOOKUPS WONDERFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM HITACHI TOO BAD NOT AVAILABLE ANYMORE NEXT TV DEFINITELY WILL BE FROM HITACHI
Summary: This tv is great. I have a much larger tv with 1080p, 120hz, etc. - this Hitachi is just as sharp, and has better overall color balance and skin tones. The audio isn't great, but with a little tweaking it sounds better than it should at this price point. It has good connectability with HDMI, SVS + component video inputs plus digital+ analog audio outs for getting your sound thru a system.
Summary: Better than I expected, quality topnotch. I am very happy I purchased this Hitachi LCD TV and the way it was delivered to my local Walmart Neighborhood Market, a week ahead of the time they told me. The set has a great picture, with no visible pixels, the sound is great, adjustable to different apps and the remote it modern, simple to use and understand.
