Summary: We purchased it for our 25 wedding anniversary in 2006, partly for ourselves and also for our teenage son who wanted a really great TV to play games. For some reason he ended up disgruntled (there was a lag time between when he played and when the TV responded). If we were gamers ourselves this might have been problematic. As it turns out, our son is now playing games on his own big screen TV in his own apartment and we are still enjoying our TV in our empty nest.
Bought in 2007, Still Primary TV in 2014. Non tech savvy review.

Summary: Purchased this plasma in 2007. It was a better model back then and almost 1500 dollars. The picture quality is great and has all the necessary inputs. I've hooked up every device and even used as a computer monitor. The unit is extremely durable and very easy to keep clean. It is very heavy and moving it can only safely be accomplished with two people.
Summary: We purchased this television almost five years ago and it's still holding up nicely. The picture is crisp and clear with no distortion, it is viewable from many different angles, and has provided us hours and hours and TV and Wii playing pleasure. The one thing I really *don't* like about this television is the sound. It's been almost five years and I still can't get the sound to where I feel it is crisp and clear without being "hollow".
Summary: I have had my Hitachi for over 2 years and I have not had any problems. The HD channels are awesome. PS3 shows up with a great picture. BR movies are a go. The only thing I regret about buying this TV is that it's not big enough...I should have purchased the larger ultravision TV. Well after 2 yrs...I think its time for a bigger TV anyway. Update: Today is 1/26/2010 I bought this TV September 2006 and it's still going strong.
Summary: This was one of the first affordable, large, high-def TVs to break a certain price barrier ($1,500), and as such it was my first HDTV. Setting this thing up in my living room, I was floored. I turned all the lights off and watched nature showson PBS with abolute awe, smiling ear-to-ear, breathing in the incredible high def scenery that was before me.
Summary: I have had the most miserable experience with my 42 inch LCD TV it has been in the repair shop more that at my home. Three trips and still the picture goes out. Customer Service is now dealing with the problem in the most unfriendly manner possible. They will not make me whole for all I have been through.
Summary: We have owned this TV for a year now and have had zero problems. The remote could be a little better but that's my only complaint. Picture quality is outstanding with HD programming and really good without it, too. There is a high-pitched tone emitted when you turn the TV off and it generally stays until you turn it back on. Maybe something on my side and not really a problem with the TV. My husband can't hear it but the dog and I do.
Summary: I bought this early this summer when I wanted to upgrade. Having had a Pioneer Elite 60 inch big screen tv for 6+ years, it was hard to give it to a friend when I moved. I went looking to get a good value for a good tv. My 27inch Proscan from about 1992 was still working well, but I wanted a bigger picture. I shopped around and this was the tv I bought. For the money you can't beat it.
