OK TV

Donald P., Newegg
18 June 2013
  • Summary: It's a three hundred dollar television. Given the price my rating should have been 5 stars.
  • Pros: 3 HDMI inputs plus component gives user four HD inputs total. Picture is reasonably good.
  • Cons: Viewing angle is small. Image is horrible from 45 degrees. IR receiver for remote is angle/obstruction sensitive. TV may sluggish in response to remote. Have to enter menu to change HDMI inputs. Would prefer separate buttons for each input on remote. Too much contrast. Too bright colors.

Great low cost tv

Steven C., Newegg
18 June 2013
  • Summary: Great little tv for under $300. Bought it a year ago and have been using it pretty much daily, still works great! Had never heard of Haier before I bought it, but its lasted this long so I think it was definitely worth the purchase
  • Pros: Low cost
  • Cons: Limited inputs (but for under 300, what do you expect?)

Thought it was an iffy buy but...

charles s., Newegg
27 March 2013
  • Pros: This Haier has great picture quality and the sound quality is much better than I was led to believe. It has become the center piece our livivng room. The HDMI port made it easy to hook up to my Sat box and has a real stable base. Set up was a breeze. It has not had any issues of any kind for 10 m...
  • Cons: A little on the heavy side.

Awesome for the Price

Jared V., Newegg
31 January 2013
  • Summary: The brand name at first threw me off, but for a 40in tv under $300 I decided it was worth the risk. 6 months in and I have not been disappointed; it seems to me that this tv beats out other brands that fall within a similar price range (Insignia, Vizio, Etc).
  • Pros: Good picture/color Great menu navigation Price (At $285 this was a steal!)
  • Cons: Only a 60Hz TV and the screen is no Samsung, but that's to be expected at this pricepoint.

Well UPS broke it during shipping

Anonymous, Newegg
25 January 2013
  • Summary: Stick with Newegg! They treat their customers right.
  • Pros: Newegg issued a FULL Refund because UPS broke the TV during shippment. So, I never got to see the TV work (you can't plug in and see a broken LCD screen!...at least not without great potential for fire or bodily harm).
  • Cons: Arrived with a broken LCD screen. Never got to see it/use it.

Great TV for the price.

Joseph R., Newegg
12 January 2013
  • Summary: I haven't used this with a cable box, so I can't say how it holds up there, but it's served great so far for my purposes, mainly gaming and watching DVDs.
  • Pros: No dead pixels, arrived promptly, minimal setup. Picture is good, better with a little tweaking. Good size for the price.
  • Cons: Doesn't sit perfectly firmly in the stand, but this hasn't been a problem yet.

Haier 39"

Anonymous, Newegg
11 November 2012
  • Summary: This TV cannot pick-up off air signals. Call to Haier Support go unanswered. It appears they sell cheap TV's, and have no support structure. If its a throw-away you're looking for, this may be the one for you. If you want quality, stay far away from this brand.
  • Pros: Low Price
  • Cons: Poor tuner sensitivity, No response from Haier Support, Picture quality is low

Not bad for the price

Michael M., Newegg
5 September 2012
  • Summary: I don't think it is the TV but the sound and picture can get out of sync pretty frequently when watching broadcast TV. I've read that this is a common problem with HD televisions. It doesn't happen with Blu-ray, DVDs or Netflix just when watching broadcast TV.
  • Pros: This TV has worked great so far. There was no dead pixels and has a great picture. Stand swivels and is fairly sturdy.
  • Cons: The favorite channels function and programming seem to be a little touchy. I'm not having any problems now, but I was getting multiples of the same channel in the menu setup. If you are having problems try returning the settings to default before you redo the auto scan or favorites function.

TV tuner not working

Tomas B., Newegg
26 July 2012
  • Summary: After two weeks sent it back, got Sceptre and I am very happy, much better quality, menus, OSD, remote, working TV tuner, night and day compare to Haier!
  • Pros: Pretty decent screen quality Price Newegg's return policy is just amazing!
  • Cons: TV tuner doesn't work, you cannot save channels, pick and save favorites, skip others, adds non-existing channels. No customer support, emailed them, never responded.

Great 1080P TV at a great price

Shaun M., Newegg
10 July 2012
  • Summary: I would not buy it for my main entertainment TV as it does not have really vivid color but it's perfect as a second TV for our bedroom.
  • Pros: Great 1080P TV for a great price. I bought this TV as a second TV for our bedroom. For me, one of the other outstanding features is that the TV swivels. Many of the TV's I have seen no longer swivel.
  • Cons: The color is not as vivid as my 46" Samsung but that cost 4x's as much.
