Summary: All the modern technology that goes into these you you would think they could manage to put in HALF WAY decent speakers.......... The sound quality is AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL !!! the picture how ever is awesome....
Summary: I was unhappy with this TV. I purchased this for my motorhome. I thought that I did my homework but apparently not well enough. I could have bought a larger flat screen of better quality for the same price as I paid for this. I thought I was getting a TV that I could run off of the AUX port in the motorhome but I was wrong. I even called the manfacturer to ask if there was a specific cord I have to purchase seperatly but they told me that this TV was not capable of that.
Summary: Nice TV for the kitchen especially with the built in DVD. It gets a lot of playing time. I also like the USB port for viewing photo's on the memory stick. Would suggest the USB port be relocated to the side of the TV for an easier access. Great TV for the price.
Summary: I just bought a Haier HLC19SL2 and am very happy with it. Plan to use it in a 1996 Leisure Travel Class B motorhome. Found these reviews to be especially helpful: G. Quickstak "Harvester", David S. Jannke "BST", George E. Smith Jr., and Porter. All mention the fact that the unit runs on 12v DC. Like me, Quickstad and Smith plan RV use.
Summary: The picture is great coming from the HD reveiver. HD channels are excellent and non-HD still has good quality. But I couldn't stand the poor quality audio and spent $25 on some small computer speakers and now it sounds great and I can finally really enjoy it. So if you want to add your own speakers or send the audio through a sound system, then I'd recommend it. But as a stand-alone, I'd look elsewhere.
Summary: The stand is not attached to the TV when you receive it. Assembly is awkward, and in the end, the screen tilts down. One would actually think it could fall over. Given that I had to pay shipping since it was not directly from Amazon (I bought from Amazon due to no restocking charge and no shipping charge), feel I'm stuck with a TV that looks reidiculous on the counter.
Summary: Haier HLC19SL2 Black 19-Inch Ultra Slim LED LCD HDTV DVD Combo This TV/DVD Combo has a sharp picture with excellent color; good quality sound (not tinny sounding). It was very easy to set up. Makes a great kitchen countertop TV. The DVD is very easy to use.
Great Nice LCD TV, operates on AC with transformer or 12 VDC

Summary: Yes it is designed to operate on 12V "only". What Haier gives you with the TV is a transformer Rectifier to convert 110V to the 12v the TV requires. I love this TV, Haier is making a mistake by not advertising it as an AC/DC TV. Many more would sale if that was advertised. I use it in my Travel trailer with a factory made 12v power cord. It has the accessory lighter type plug on one end and the Type M plug for the TV on the opposite.
Summary: I bought two of these and am powering them with 12VDC. No problems here and no smoke. I suspect you have to be very careful with the polarity because it's not really made to run off of 12V and might not have polarity protection. If you do manage to smoke it you'll have to do significant electronic surgery to bring it back to life, but there's a reasonable chance a good electronics guy could do so.
Summary: Just installed the Haier HLC19SL2 on my boat. Worked great using the supplied 120 VAC power module. When I hooked up to 12 VDC it smoked and is now trash. Don't have origional packaging to return it. Will most likly buy another and use a 12VDC to 120VAC inverter to power it.
