Summary: the way tvs get updated these days, find a decent set that needs little work or has a few dings for a good price. because in a few years its gonna get tossed anyway or get more dings so save money now.
Summary: We bought this TV at a Black Friday event in 2012. They didn't have any more in the store so this was a 'ship-to-store after purchase" situation. I have no idea what people are talking about this TV being a dud. We are still using this TV. It still works and has the same crisp quality since day 1. It is also used daily. No problems. It has even withstood the occasional slap to the screen by our son, who is almost 2 w/ a pretty good swing for someone his age.
Take your chances when buying out of warranty items.

Summary: When I was looking for a 32" to 36" tv, I chose this for the price not knowing how well the picture quality or reliability would stand. Approximately a week and a half of using the tv, the power supply board had failed, thus shutting down the tv and unable to use it for a while. Looked on the back of the tv and it was manufactured 1 year ago to the month so any warranties are past due and up to me to fix it or throw away the $175 investment.
Summary: We bought this tv as a Black Friday special and used it regularly for 18 months and maybe less then 2 hrs a week after that and it is currently 23 months from the purchase date and last night it just stopped working- there is no power what so ever. After looking at the other reviews, seems like this is a common problem with them. I have never heard of a tv working for such a sort period of time.
Summary: I have had this tv for almost 2 years now and i have had no issues with it. I use this tv every day with my desktop and have gamed on it and watched many of movies and the quality is good. The item says that it only has 720p, however when connected to my desktop i have had it at 1080p and the picture quality looks good. If hooking up to a computer do it through hdmi. The quality is alot better! About 5,000 hrs of active use.
Summary: We bought this television in march of this year. Three months later it no longer works. I called customer service from the Emerson website and it appeared they would be replacing the television free of charge. I was to have a box sent with return labeling so it would be no costs to me. This was weeks ago(was supposed to be 7-10 business days). I have called them several times since to ask about the box.
