Was going to purchase a new TV soon and on a whim while Christmas shopping we purchased this television on Black Friday 2012 at Walmart. Walked by the television a few times before I picked one up. Really wish I had not. Once we hooked up the tv the picture was okay and sound acceptable but after a while we started to notice blueish silver lines going across the screen, top and bottom and they would flash or twitch at times. The lines would go away after half hour to forty-five minutes. Then we started to notice that after watching one channel for a period of time then change to another channel you could still see the previous channels icon on the screen in the corner like the CN on the cartoon channel. Then this too would go away after a period of time. Took this one back to Walmart and exchanged for the same model to keep the sale price. Took home hooked up and this one had the same problem. Called Emerson to see if there was some reason this was happening and they were trying to blame on our cable company even though we have had other like TVs with no problems. Said should go away if given time. Waited few more days and still lines, flashes and image ghosts on the screen. Took that one back also to get my money back and while at the store I ask someone there if they have had many of these tvs brought back and there answer was a very positive yes. I then asked what was the most common problem and they said blue or silver lines on the screens. If I was them I would pull those tvs and send back to Emerson. I did notice that they no longer have that tv on there site where you can comment or review any longer. Hmmm. Wonder why!

We purchased this TV at Walmart. We were pleased with its picture and functionality. However, after 13 month of light use it suddenly went blank. The fuse on the power board had blown (4A). When another identical fuse was inserted it blew also. With some research on the internet, I discovered that the power board frequently goes bad on this TV. I ordered a replacement board (cost $60) and the TV is up and running again. We shall see how long the TV lasts this time.

I do not recommend buying this TV. Walmart no longer sells it for some reason!
