Summary: Took tv out of bix and hooked it up After 3 hours of checking all my conections and feeds i was able to say for sure it was the tv Moved it around and it came on It works some times but after a few mins goes very dark and cant see pic Very disappointed it said it was repaired prior to being sold.
Summary: Bought this for my office and it works just fine. I'm using the cable input. It seems like some of the companies who make these don't even check their cable input to see if it works. -I've had to return two.
Summary: Can't complain about the HD picture and the speakers are loud. Mine doubles as a bedroom TV and PC monitor and that is where it struggles. The set has trouble getting the VGA signal in after standby. I frequently have to unplug the set and plug it back in to pick the signal up. Occasionally I see this issue with the TV signal but much less frequently. Also can't get universal remotes to program to it.
Summary: Bought as Refurbed unit but I think they failed to fix the problem. At first it wouldn't always turn on and off with remote. Thought it was remote. Later it would not turn on at all with or without remote. They replaced promptly but you have to pay for second unit if you want it shipped ASAP and then they credit for other unit when it shows up. Good Picture, avg. to poor sound like most cheaper LCD TV's.
Summary: TV turns on and then turns off after a few seconds. After going through that 20-30 times it might stay on for a while. I've only owned it for 30 minutes. It is not reliable at all and I am returning it while I still can.
Coby went out of business--manufacturer's warranty?
Vincent C., Amazon
13 November 2013
Summary: Coby went out of business in the summer of 2013. If a consumer requires warranty coverage, there is no Coby to turn to since they are no longer in business; the purchaser may need to find an alternate source of warranty coverage.
Summary: I placed the TV up on a high dresser, so the slant of the mount makes the screen to the bed at the proper angle. It took a while to figure out that the screw to hold the base to the screen is tightened into the base of the screen, so has to be removed from the screen and then reinserted into the base when the base is pushed into the screen hole. Then the screw, which is a wingnut, is screwed through the hole in the base back into the screen.
Summary: I am really pleased. I recieved this monitor and hooked it to my computer in minuets. However the sound was awful as others have said, bought two small Logitec speakers plugged them into the headphone jack and now I have great sound. Have had no problems and I love the shut down feature, I did buy the Square Trade warranty just in case. Good price as well.
Summary: The screen is a perfect size. It's on my desk, and I use it for a TV and a second monitor screen. I'm a bit disappointed in the resolution as a monitor - even though I have it set at 1920X1080, it still isn't as sharp as the screen on my laptop set at the same resolution. The size makes that less of an issue, but I expected crystal-clear images (of documents) and it doesn't measure up in that area.
