With an appealing design at a fair price, the Benq DV3750 gets a lot of things right on this model, however, there is still room for improvement. With an industrial flair the 37-inch unit is decked out in a brushed silver exterior and two rather impressive speakers that mount on each side of the screen.

The unit is powered by a rounded space age looking remote that is sleek and easy to hold. However, what it has going for it in design, it lacks in features. Including the absence of a backlight and audio visual input selector.

Under its smooth interior, the Benq bodes the latest in technology. Namely, the Faroudja Directional Correlation Deinterlacing (DCDi) Chip. The very mention of which leaves home theater junkies salivating. The chip is designed to take the edge off high motion footage, giving it a clearer and truer resolution. However, in some testing, the unit still had trouble restraining jagged edges. The Benq also includes a wide array of connections including two Scart inputs and double the fun with two component ports.

No audio visual experience is complete without great audio. The Benq delivers a high-quality sound, utilizing both TruSurround XT and Virtual Dolby Pro Logic 2 surround. The unit does come up short with regard to picture quality, giving off a slightly bluish hue. In addition, it has trouble handling dark details when utilized in the component / video input setting. However, it fares much better in the DVI input mode. The component / video input setting also shows difficulty in handling finer details and lacks clarity.

While the Benq is priced fairly, and has several features that make it worth a second look, it could use a few improvements to rival other high-end competitors.
