Summary: The price is great. its a neat product but I would like a better picture. the image that the microscope captures is like that of a digital camera with 3 mega pixals. I'm able to make out what Im looking at but would be great if it was hi def.
Summary: My 6 year old grandchild visits often and has an unending curiosity about everything. The Veho is always in our utility room and available to let him look at anything he wishes to bring inside for examination.
Pros: Accurate, Compact, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction
Summary: The microscope is very easy to use once you get the hang of it. The only drawback is the software that comes with it, which is really poor quality, but since the computer sees the microscope as just a normal webcam, you can use just about any webcam software with it (there are lots of good free programs for that).
Summary: So I purchased this ian microscope. It never loaded the drivers as they are no good. I spoke with customer service and I feel like im talking with a 12 y/o cchild who does not know much about the product to begin with. This product is garbage. I do not reccomend this to anyone.
Summary: The Veho 400x microscope is a great general use magnifier! Perfect for students, hobbyists or anyone who does some kind of inspection. Before you purchase it check your computer's compatibility. For the PC the microscope requires Windows XP or Windows 7. Also check that you have version 2 of the software. Software updates can be downloaded from the Veho website. I was a little disappointed that the old laptop on my workbench was not compatible and required an upgrade.
Summary: Although the microscope is nice, the software will not work with any computer I own. My Computers are as follows: Mac OS X 10.6 Vista 64bit Premium Windows XP(vmware on the Mac) Using third party software it will work up to 640x480. It works nice, but I purchased this for the 1.3mp sensor. Simply put this does not function as advertised due to software limitation.
Summary: I just bought this microscope and after some initial disappointment, because I didn't really know how to use it and the documentation that comes with it is almost useless, I am now quite pleased with it. There is some confusion in reviews here over what this microscope can do -- is it really a 400x power microscope? The advertising describes it as "Magnification: 20x - 400x (Plus digital zoom in 640x480 mode)" Does that mean it can continuously zoom for 20X to 400x?
Pros: 20x and 400x, Accurate, Compact
Cons: Difficult To Focus, Difficult to Use, Does not zoom, Poor documentation
