  • Summary: Customer service by phone was excellent and shipping prompt. Customer rep was able to answer all my questions and even thought of some things I hadn't. The scope has fulfilled all my expectations. Easy to assemble and good instructions. I bought a laser pointer and use that more than the finder scope. Based on my experience I can easily recommend Orion products.

  • Summary: I am very happy with my 12" Intelliscope. I had 6" and 10" reflectors before but this one is just perfect. Anything bigger than a 12" and it would be hard for me to handle. I am enjoying the increased light gathering capability and the viewing is sharp. The Intelliscope controller works great, much better than I had anticipated. It has opened up a whole new universe to me.

  • Summary: this is my first large scope, my first view was andromeda wow! it's weight was to be expected, but this summer I had many good nights for viewing, Jupiter was full frame including the moons. No regrets, too much automation in other scopes uses up battery power. Setup was about 1 hour. Our amateur radio group in Elmira is quite anxious to take a peek.

  • Summary: I'm very pleased with my XT12. I've been using an 8-inch reflector with an equatorial mount for many years, and now that I live in an area with fairly dark skies, I want to go after fainter objects. I've started working on the Herschel 400, and I'm not having much difficulty finding faint galaxies. I have not used the object locator because I prefer the challenge of star hopping, and with the excellent finder and a Telrad, star hopping is a pleasure.

  • Summary: I purchased this telescope about a year ago (on sale!). It was well packaged and shipped. Assembly was easy. The optics are excellent. The software that comes with the telescope is amazing - a great alternative to exploring the universe when it's cloudy out! The object finder is easy to setup and use.

  • Summary: I have had the XT12is for a month and am really enjoying the views. Due to being in the city and being real new to telescopes, I have been limited to objects that are less than 9 mag. Views of the moon (recommend moon filter) Jupiter, and even Uranus are awesome! Globular clusters like m11 and m17 were nice. Hunting for nebulae like m27 and m57 was a blast. What was most exciting was seeing a galaxy for the first time, m31 and m110. Have not been able to see m33 yet.

  • Summary: Let me begin by saying that I am a beginner here, spending most of my time looking down micrscopes. But I have always loved the sky and had a series of cheapo telescopes that piqued my interest but never satisfied it. So, I decided to take the plunge and get a good telescope finally. I spent over a year researching them, their dealers, accessories, and comparison-shopping among many different sources -- none of it easy, but all of it eye-opening.

  • Summary: This is my first scope. It was highly recommended that I purchase a Dob, and I am glad I did. I did make one mistake though. I purchased this scope to keep in my vacation home in Vt, thinking I would just pick it up and walk out onto my deck. At 83 pounds it's not the easiest thing to do and then squeeze through the slider while carrying it. So, think about that before ordering one. Also, I can't use it in winter there, again due to the weight.
