Summary: I've been using this telescope for a couple of months now, and I'm still generally happy with it. Its very small size and light weight let me to take it along on outings up to the local park, or just out to the sidewalk in front of my home for a quick view of Venus before sunset, when schlepping and setting up my bigger telescope would be too much of a hassle.
Summary: I bought the goscope as a second telescope, to use while hiking and camping for both daytime birdwatching, etc. and nighttime skywatching. It's a good little telescope. Overall construction is good and solid, with good optics. The tripod folds up to a very compact size, but is fairly stable.
Summary: I purchased this scope just as it went on sale. It arrived in less than a week and a half (I live in Canada and was during July 1st/4th weekend) which was quicker than I had expected. The packages arrived packed very well. The scope took me less than 5 minutes to assemble once everything was unpacked and I have only assembled one of those toy scopes before once.
Summary: Hello everyone i am new in this field and i would like everyone to know if you are looking for the best begginer scope for land viewing or just watching the stars and moon at night this is the best scope out there. just don't take my word for it-- try it.
Summary: I bought this telescope for my husband as his favorite thing in the world is space and stars. So far he has enjpoyed it to its fullest. every night he is out looking for constellations or the moon and the excitement on his face is priceless. This was easy to set up easy to use. The backpack and such are great extras for padding and keeping it safe as well. As this telescope is good for my husband it is also easy for children to use.
Summary: I commented here earlier about the excellent GoScope, but also its very poor-quality tripod. I am very pleased to report that, upon sending in the broken tripod for resolution, Orion quickly shipped me the new, improved GoScope tripod. Thank you for the excellent customer service.
Summary: I purchased the scope for my wife to look at the moon, planets and birds. She loves it and so do I. It is a quality product, easy to use and fun. The service was excellent. We will be purchasing again in the future.
Summary: When I took it out of the box, I noticed that the focuser knob had come-off during shipment, and the interior focuser assembly was loose and wouldn't focus, therefore making the telescope unusable. I just shipped it back to Orion yesterday, for a replacement scope. I'm praying that the new scope has no defects in its' assembly. Out here in AZ, the evenings can be clear, and being far from the city lights, the evenings can be very 'dark' as well.
Summary: Received my Orion GoScope 70 today. I was really surprised with the quality for the price I paid. The optics are great and to get a descent tripod and backpack with it is really a plus. I have a Meade Starfinder 10" dobsonian reflector and an AstroView 90mm refractor. I was looking for something small to take on camping trips and hikes. This works out great for what I was looking for. Thanks!
