  • Summary: Was easy to set up, a total novice will be able to set up and start using in 30 minutes. This is astronomical scope (reverses and inverts image which is fine for astronomical use) not for use with terrestrial viewing. First night was able to see Jupiter and 4 of its moons. Mount is a little shaky but stabilizes quickly. Has rekindled my love of astronomy. I got this scope when it was about 109 + shipping but still worth it at 179.

  • Summary: This is a pretty decent beginner telescope. You can see the moon very well with it, can barely make out the rings on Saturn, and can see the little specks that are Jupiter's moons. I also looked at the white smudge that is Andromeda Galaxy. It is very easy to set up and adjust. I have only one complaint, and that is the red dot viewfinder. It worked perfectly for a couple of months, but now seems to need realignment very frequently, even if I don't touch it.

  • Summary: The scope gives a great view of the Moon, My main problem is with the mount. It will not tighten down, so the scope turns freely. Bottom line, you pay $109, you get a $109 view. Spend a little more..........

  • Summary: I purchased this telescope as an upgrade from a basic refractor. The price was right. About $30 cheaper than anyone else. However, I was disappointed in the performance. Just not enough scope for me. We live in the desert, so light pollution was not a problem. However, I still couldn't see the detail I would like. It may still be a good first timer scope, but not more than that.

  • Summary: This scope is well worth Walmart's purchase price. The assembly manual is lacking though. I have never used a reflector scope before so a little more detail would have been helpful. The shortcoming is in the alignment and calibration areas. After several nights of viewing I finally figured out the alignment. The RA and Dec controls work nicely but the azimuth adjustment is lacking.

  • Summary: Walmart has done it for me. A good reflective telescope that works and is easy to use. The telescope had no damage or anything related to that. Walmart had the lowest price for this telescope, which made me glad. The shipping was right on time and tracking the order was accurate. This telescope will amaze you if you're a first-timer.

  • Summary: Ordered Scope with Home Delivery. Once Received it was missing all the Hardware to assemble. I called Meade and requested the missing Hardware. I was told the scope is foreign made so they do not have parts they only have completed packages so I had to package the whole thing up and send it to them and they would send me out a new one. I had to ship it to them at my own expense. I was told there was a week turn around time before I would get it back.

  • Summary: I purchased this telescope for my 9 year old sister, and as soon as we put is together I realized this could be a little big for her, but she will be able to grow into it. She ris eally excited about, she just has to have an adult help her locate stars, or the moon at first, and then she is fine on he own. I would recommend this for an older crowd.
