An excellent buying experience!

Willis, Orion Telescopes & Binoculars
31 July 2011
 • Excerpt: A rugged, high quality and versatile scope that I will probably use much more often than my bigger scope because it is easier to transport and quicker to set up. The German equatorial mount is very solid and the optical clarity is outstanding. I will probably upgrade to the 2" diagonal and lenses at some point but the 1.25" diagonal and lens that comes with the scope was even better than I expected.
 • Pros: Accurate, Easy to Use, Lightweight, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction

Well Built, Good Value

Russ L., Orion Telescopes & Binoculars
12 June 2011
 • Excerpt: This is the first telescope I have owned since I was a kid. I did a lot of research and made a good choice with the Omni XLT120 for my reintroduction to astronomy. This is a well built solid telescope. The CG-4 mount is very sturdy and provides a solid base for casual observing and astrophotography.
 • Pros: Accurate, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction

Wonderful scope

Fozzie, Orion Telescopes & Binoculars
7 January 2011
 • Excerpt: This is my first telescope and I must say I was surprised by the size even after hearing again and again about it. It is a LARGE refractor and weighs a solid 50+ lbs once set up on the tripod. That being said the build quality is wonderful and the optics seem great for the money. I obviously don't have much for a point of reference but the views of the moon, Orion and Jupiter have been great. I can't wait to actually get it out to darker skies and start exploring.
 • Pros: Accurate, Expandable capability, Quality Lenses, Stable, Strong Construction

Great scope for the money

ArtDirector, Orion Telescopes & Binoculars
17 September 2010
 • Excerpt: This is a great scope with a nice sturdy mount. I've had the older mount and this mount is 100 times better. The scope is well crafted and has great views. I use this scope with Televue eyepieces and a Minus Violet filter so I really don't see much false color. Scope is large and has great views. Great bargain for what you get.
 • Pros: Accurate, Compact, Great mount, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction
 • Cons: Tight focuser

A feature packed achromat, Great Price

sarahabebob, Orion Telescopes & Binoculars
8 September 2010
 • Excerpt: This is a truly fine achromatic refracting telescope, capable of sharp and contrasty images. A telescope like this , when i was younger would have cost several thousand dollars. I have built many of my own instruments in the past, and i currently own numerous comercially made telescopes of differing types and apertures that are housed in my private observatory.
 • Pros: Great Value for a 120mm, Quality Construction, Very Sharp optics
 • Cons: None

Nice scope at a good price.

Mike, Orion Telescopes & Binoculars
20 July 2010
 • Excerpt: This scope gives pleasing views of the moon and planets. I purchased a sun filter and it does well on the sun also. The mount is stable and easy to use after a little practice. I am going to replace the finder with a right angle finder and you do need to get some good eyepieces. But to be able to have a refractor this size and this good for the money is great. All in all a nice scope.
 • Pros: Easy to set up, Good Looking, Strong Construction
 • Cons: Finder scope won't focus

STRONG, STABLE, NOT A LIGHTWIEGHT!!

Kram 48, Orion Telescopes & Binoculars
8 September 2009
 • Excerpt: Exceptional construction and quality. This may be a pleasant suprise if you think it's going to be a light weight beginner scope. This unit is large, stable and has some weight to it. The optics produce clean crisp clear images.A novel idea...get the finder scope set correctly and the object will be there in the eye piece. Get good with using the 25mm eye piece then increase from there. Invest in the multiple sets of filters and eyepieces, you wont be sorry.
 • Pros: Accurate, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction
