Amazing quality and ease of use for so low a price

  • Excerpt: I use this scope as a quick grab and go scope for rapid setup and easy portability, while not spending a lot of $. I have much larger, bulkier scopes that will show a lot more, but this one will surprise you with what it will show. Easy to learn and has accurate computerized pointing.
  • Pros: Accurate, Compact, Easy to Use, Lightweight, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction

Impressed So Far

Don, B&H Photo
15 April 2015
  • Excerpt: So far this scope has proven easy to use. Mount seems very smooth and solid. Nice size. Nice weight. Easier by far to move than my 8" SCG. Optics seem pretty well made. Have only had it out a few times and seeing conditions have not been good, so have not yet seen it in action under nice clear skies...

Optics good quality

Electraglideblue, B&H Photo
10 March 2015
  • Excerpt: The 127 is a good starter scope. The optics are crisp and sharp. The motorized drive performs well. The spotting scope is OK. The tripod is way to short and needs to be another 18 to 24 inches taller. If you are serious about shopping for a telescope make sure you can view through it when standing.

Great Product and Value

Ryan, B&H Photo
7 October 2014
  • Excerpt: I use it occasionally, as I am an amatuer. I was considering the next level up Nexstar 6se, but just couldn't justify the price due to not knowing how much it would actually get used. I decided on this Nexstar 127SLT instead. At about 2/3 the price its performance is everything I hoped it would be.

FANTASTIC TELESCOPE IN A CLOUDY CLIMATE

Geo, B&H Photo
23 January 2014
  • Excerpt: The telescope came complete as advertised on the BH website and was simply amazingly fast to assemble and tear down. Because I live in the Cleveland, Ohio, area, it's been pretty snowy and cloudy, but I did get to see the moon in all its glory around twilight on a clear day (1-hour clear) and...

16 October 2013
  • Excerpt: This scope is perfect for my application. It's 5" aperature does the job for my observing sessions. With it I've had great views of Saturn, Jupiter, globular clusters and Andromeda. The GOTO works fairly well, its accuracy is dependent upon just how well you do an alignment.

  • Summary: This Scope has excellent optics. The tripod is shaky but it may be reduced with the anti-vibration pads. I would recommend this scope to any newcomer and Amateur and it is lite so you could take it anywhere. I am surprised on the Quality of the optics.
  • Pros: Lite-Weight, Excellent views, Pin Point Stars, Nice goto
  • Cons: Shaky Tripod, No Case,
