Great Product and Value

Ryan, B&H Photo
7 October 2014
  • Excerpt: I use it occasionally, as I am an amatuer. I was considering the next level up Nexstar 6se, but just couldn't justify the price due to not knowing how much it would actually get used. I decided on this Nexstar 127SLT instead. At about 2/3 the price its performance is everything I hoped it would be. I've only gotten to use it a few times so far, but I've had a blast.
  • Pros: Accurate, Easy to Use, Quality Lenses
  • Cons: Unstable

FANTASTIC TELESCOPE IN A CLOUDY CLIMATE

Geo, B&H Photo
23 January 2014
  • Excerpt: The telescope came complete as advertised on the BH website and was simply amazingly fast to assemble and tear down. Because I live in the Cleveland, Ohio, area, it's been pretty snowy and cloudy, but I did get to see the moon in all its glory around twilight on a clear day (1-hour clear) and because it's Cleveland, it changed.
  • Pros: Accurate, Compact, Ease Of Assembly Sturdy, Easy to Use, Lightweight, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction
  • Cons: So Far No Complaints

"Nice grab and go scope"

Stormy, B&H Photo
16 October 2013
  • Excerpt: This scope is perfect for my application. It's 5" aperature does the job for my observing sessions. With it I've had great views of Saturn, Jupiter, globular clusters and Andromeda. The GOTO works fairly well, its accuracy is dependent upon just how well you do an alignment. The scope is lightweight and easy to take along. That was my main concern. If you do not extend the tripod's legs all the way, the scope is fairly stable.
  • Pros: Compact, Easy to Use, Lightweight
  • Cons: Goto Accuracy

Nextstar 127SLT Maksutov-Cassegrain

dstiebs, opticsplanet.com
14 April 2013
  • Summary: This Scope has excellent optics. The tripod is shaky but it may be reduced with the anti-vibration pads. I would recommend this scope to any newcomer and Amateur and it is lite so you could take it anywhere. I am surprised on the Quality of the optics. The stars are like pin-points and the planets focus superbly. Excellent Scope for the money.
  • Pros: Lite-Weight, Excellent views, Pin Point Stars, Nice goto
  • Cons: Shaky Tripod, No Case,

Easy Assembly

David, wayfair.com
10 February 2013
  • Summary: Levelling the scope by means of adjusting the legs is tedious. The included articles do not include a t-ring for doing photography, but these can be obtained for about $12.

Very good!

Roberto Rezende Aleixo, B&H Photo
11 January 2013
  • Excerpt: It's my first telescope, and really liked it!'s Very powerful, I could see Saturn and Jupiter, which I had never seen antes.Das two lenses that come with it, the 25mm works best as a 09mm, despite the higher zoom, not is as clear as the 25mm.Pretendo buy additional kit lens Celestron, which will make my space exploration more interesting.

So Far, So Great

Jane the Traveler, B&H Photo
30 August 2012
  • Excerpt: I gave the 127SLT to my husband for a big birthday, nurturing our mutual interest in amateur astronomy. We needed something portable because we are New Yorkers on the go, working a lot in Uganda, where the night sky is impressive. I wanted something we could haul around easily but that still provides high quality viewing opportunities.
  • Pros: Compact, Easy to Use, Great optics, Great Portability, Great Value For Money, Lightweight, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Slight Brief Imagewobble
