Solid and easy to use

Macro and astro, B&H Photo
8 October 2010
  • Excerpt: This telescope is very easy to mount and operate. Instructions are 95% corresponding to what you have to do. A couple of comments : mount the finderscope : you will have to remove the 2 screws.. Do not try to find open screw holes.

Everything BUT USB

Bill, B&H Photo
2 July 2010
  • Excerpt: This is a superior product that will give many years of pleasure viewing the "Outer Limits" of our solar system. The ONLY thing I couldn't believe was that an RS-232 serial connector was included to hook up to my laptop. USB has been in use for OVER 10 years universally.

Orion Telescopes & Binoculars
1 July 2009
  • Summary: I am really impressed with the speed at which the product was sent. My only disappointmrnt was that one of the set screws that secures the finder scope to the tube was bent. I can't determine how this happened as the box was not damaged.

Orion Telescopes & Binoculars
4 October 2008
  • Summary: I recently purchased the 800 after being an LX200 user for several years. I am amazed with the product's pointing accuracy - even when mounted on a wedge. Polar alignment was effortless with the optional wedge. The wedge seems perfectly suited for the 800.

  • Summary: I have had this scope for 3 weeks now, and I simply love it!!! It works as advertised! If you do your part and level the tripod, all you have to do is pick out three bright objects, stars or planets, center them in the eyepiece, hit align, and bingo! you a ready to go!!!
