Summary: This 11" SCT is surprisingly easy to setup, use and transport. It's full GPS powered GoTo system is highly accurate, once you get the hang of initial alignment. Alignment itself is easy to do, with a very short learning curve. Even though the scope is not a lightweight (OTA and Fork tip the scales at 65lbs) It is well designed and easily handled. The tripod is rock-solid. I've only used this scope since Dec of '09 but I have since fallen in love with it.
Summary: Strong Sturdy Mount! I was able to setup, align, and enter coordinates within minutes. Truly this is an advanced generation telescope that puts your eyes in the sky where they should be. This scope is larger than it looks but I was amazed at how easy it is to travel with and mount. You cannot go wrong with this scope! Beautiful Views!
Summary: This would apply to the entire line of Celestron CPC scopes from 8" to the 11" that I own. Simply put, the optics are fabulous and extremely consistent from scope to scope and the Go To drive is unequalled for accuracy - period! No names but I've yet to find a competitor who can align their Go To as quickly as a Celestron CPC and I've gone to over 100 objects in an evening of viewing at over 300x and yet had one to turn up in the high powered eyepiece field of view!!
Summary: Whether using my CPC1100 for is optical capability or for astrophotography, it is a real joy to use. I have it on a trolley so it is easy to roll out onto my driveway. Alignment with 3 objects is quick and with the GPS, it never fails. I have taken awesome pictures of the moon, Messier objects and the Orion nebula that have wowed me and my friends. I am looking forward to the winter skies. Quality equipment and ease-of-use have finally become affordable.
Summary: Since I have purchased the CPC 1100 XLT, I have stepped up into the world of observatory-class observation. (I have also been staying up later at night, too!) It is very easy to align. I have mounted my 1.3 Mp CCD onto it and so far I have been able to make some really beautiful videos of the moon's surface, that has wowed everyone at work. The cloud bands of Jupiter are very apparent.
Summary: I recently purchased a Celestron CPC 1100 XLT GoTo Schmidt Cassegrain from Orion Telescopes and I'm here to tell you this scope is a sure thing. It's literally a no brainer to use. Just point to 3 bright stars and BANG!!! Your off to the stars!!! It has great optics. And the GO TO is 100 and 10% accurate. Just tell it where to go and it's there. And the customer service? Well let me just say this. It's second to none. Thanks Orion Telescopes. One thrilled customer.
Summary: First I would like to thank Orion for their A+++ customer service and fast shipping. The telescope arrived in perfect condition. My first impression was, Wow, this thing is huge. After being away from astronomy for about 10 years, my two sons talked dad into getting out his old home built 8" Dob. That was all it took to get them hooked. I decided on the CPC1100, based on reviews of how easy it is to use.
Summary: This has to be the best scope I've used in a while. The optics has a great figure and star tested with text book rings!! The collomation was still dead on even after having a good bump on the box certicy of Fex Ex. Thats a testiment to Celestron's Packaging!! Five stars Celestron!!! The scope performed great from Planets to Galaxies and I was even able to see the Horsehead with that scope over 8" SCT's and Dobs!! and that is using a H beta filter.
