Great Scope, Mount Should Be Better

Kilcher, Orion Telescopes & Binoculars
25 April 2012
  • Excerpt: The scope itself is outstanding for the price. I don't think you will find a better deal for the beginner or entry level scope. My only complaint is the mount is not sturdy enough for the size of the scope. When you try to fix on one point, the mount will not stay fixed due to the weight and size of the scope. I believe this mount would be ideal for a smaller scope, but not the AstroMaster 90.
  • Pros: Easy to Use, Lightweight, Quality Lenses
  • Cons: Mount, Unstable

Great telescope

jcat111777, Orion Telescopes & Binoculars
5 April 2012
  • Excerpt: It was super easy to put together. Right away my two boys and I took it outside to see the moon and the hillside during the day. The moon was much more exciting.<br />Later that night we looked at the moon again, which they thought we VERY bright compared to during the day. We also saw Jupiter, which was not full, Sirus (I think) which was electric blue and magenta- So Cool!!

Nice Starter Scope

CC in CT, B&H Photo
2 April 2012
  • Excerpt: I bought this for my husband's birthday. It is powerful enough for great views of the moon. Some planets are visible but not in detail. I also purchased the t-ring adaptor which allows me to attach my canon dslr to it. The tri-pod is a little wobbly which makes it hard to take crisp in focus pictures but overall we are happy with this purchase.

  • Excerpt: I purchased this telescope less than 1 week ago for my 11-y-old son. He simply loves it.So far it is perfroming quite well. Unfortunately. as a result of overcast night skies and light pollution, we were not able to view the moon and plantets as I had planned with my son. However, terrestial viewing is excellent.

A Great Telescope

Fadi the Explorer, B&H Photo
21 November 2011
  • Excerpt: This is the first Telescope I have ever used and I am very satisfied with it. I couldn't believe when I was able to see Jupiter with the 10mm Eyepiece. For a first time Telescope this is the one you need.

My first telescope

Brian, Orion Telescopes & Binoculars
10 April 2011
  • Excerpt: The first thing I did with this telescope was point it at the moon. I was so impressed at the quality and the features that pop out just with the 20mm lens. That same night, I pointed it at Saturn, and I was simply shocked. I put in 6.4mm lens, and I was so happy that I called my family to see the beautiful sight. I couldn't ask for a better telescope for under 200$. Strongly recommended for those who are on a tight budget, because I certainly am.
