Great Scope, Mount Should Be Better

Kilcher, Orion Telescopes & Binoculars
25 April 2012
  • Excerpt: The scope itself is outstanding for the price. I don't think you will find a better deal for the beginner or entry level scope. My only complaint is the mount is not sturdy enough for the size of the scope. When you try to fix on one point, the mount will not stay fixed due to the weight and size of the scope. I believe this mount would be ideal for a smaller scope, but not the AstroMaster 90.
  • Pros: Easy to Use, Lightweight, Quality Lenses
  • Cons: Mount, Unstable

Great telescope

jcat111777, Orion Telescopes & Binoculars
5 April 2012
  • Excerpt: It was super easy to put together. Right away my two boys and I took it outside to see the moon and the hillside during the day. The moon was much more exciting.<br />Later that night we looked at the moon again, which they thought we VERY bright compared to during the day. We also saw Jupiter, which was not full, Sirus (I think) which was electric blue and magenta- So Cool!!

Headline adequate

Paul Castell, Orion Telescopes & Binoculars
22 March 2012
  • Excerpt: I purchased this telescope less than 1 week ago for my 11-y-old son. He simply loves it.So far it is perfroming quite well. Unfortunately. as a result of overcast night skies and light pollution, we were not able to view the moon and plantets as I had planned with my son. However, terrestial viewing is excellent.

My first telescope

Brian, Orion Telescopes & Binoculars
10 April 2011
  • Excerpt: The first thing I did with this telescope was point it at the moon. I was so impressed at the quality and the features that pop out just with the 20mm lens. That same night, I pointed it at Saturn, and I was simply shocked. I put in 6.4mm lens, and I was so happy that I called my family to see the beautiful sight. I couldn't ask for a better telescope for under 200$. Strongly recommended for those who are on a tight budget, because I certainly am.

Great Value

Grant, Orion Telescopes & Binoculars
31 July 2010
  • Excerpt: This is an excellent refractor for the price, as you can find it under $200. I've been using it for over a month now and love the thing. Out of the box you'll get eyepieces for 50x and 100x magnfication. I also use a 6mm with it for 166x mag. A reviewer mentioned &quot;you won't see Jupiter's cloud belts or Mars' polar ice caps&quot;.

More than I expected

Oklahoma Farmer, Orion Telescopes & Binoculars
19 June 2010
  • Excerpt: We bought this to watch over our farms from our new home. Very pleased with how well we can see. A wonderful plus is the ability to see the moon and stars. Look forward to many hours of pleasure watching the skies. Very sturdy, clear vision. Couldn't expect more from this telescope. More than covers our need. Much more than we expected.

Perfect Choice to beginners

Janofotografia, Adorama
12 April 2010
  • Excerpt: I was in my first Astronomy class. And there were about 6 more telescopes. I thought others would be better then mine. They looked amazing and bigger. But when we used them, my telescope was the most interesting for the people. Images sharply and easy to use. I recommended it to a 15 people i think.
