  • Excerpt: Great scope for the price! Crystal Clear Optics. For a budget scope it is tops. Love the dovetail on the EQ mount. • Excerpt: Got this telescope for the family during Christmas. Extremely easy to set up. Brought it out the first night and we were able to easily see the moon as well as some cool stars. The stand does shake easily if bumped, but I can imagine it being built much mor sturdy.

Great EQ Refractor

Cole, Orion Telescopes & Binoculars
2 September 2011
  • Excerpt: This is a great refractor for the price. I bought it because it was equatorial mounted. Once you are align with Polaris, viewing is a breeze. Manually tracking objects with this EQ mount is much easier than doing so with an alt-az mounted scope.
  • Pros: Accurate, Easy to Use, Lightweight, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Difficult To Focus

Good telescope for the beginner

Vinny, Orion Telescopes & Binoculars
19 January 2009
  • Excerpt: This telescope is a sturdy well built beginner telescope. The only thing I see wrong with it is the rotating eye piece. It is screwed together by two pieces but tends to loosen when you rotate it from one side to the other then you need to tighten it up and reinstall.
  • Pros: Accurate, Comfortable Eyepiece, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction
