Great Telescope

jackson-motors, Ebay
10 October 2014
  • Summary: This is a great telescope, and it's extremely powerful. Once I figured out how to operate it I could see crevices and textures on the moon you only see in the movies......amazing. I would highly recommend it to all looking for something a bit more powerful than what's sold in your local Toys-R-Us. This is not a toy.........

  • Summary: My son loves his telescope and is looking forward to warmer weather so he can use it more often. It is relatively light weight and easy to use. We were able to see deep craters on the moon.

OK Value with slight modification

  • Excerpt: This is a decent telescope. I moved up to this from my starter telescope - a Ø70mm (2.7") F.900 f/12 Refractor modelI get bright well defined detail except if using a barlow lens - not sure why - but I will figure that out. The focusing is smooth and with some trial and error the locating of objects is fairly easy. The built in star finder is useless and constatntly eats up batteries. I use it only for "ball parking" and object.
  • Pros: Accurate, Compact, Easy to Use, Lightweight, Strong Construction

A Decent Value

19 August 2010
  • Excerpt: This is a fine instrument for a beginning backyard astronomer. It is particularly well suited for inhabitants of light-polluted urban areas, because (1) It is compact enough to be transported easily to dark sites, by car or plane. While it does not come with a carrying case, it is easy to make one from a small duffel bag and some 2" thick cushion foam, and the tripod can be collapsed and clipped to the top of the bag; (2) Even in light-polluted areas it can show...
  • Pros: Compact, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction
