Good as long as you don't need any service from Viewsonic
30 January 2012
Summary: The product could have been rated 2 to 3 stars, but 1 star or less now because of Viewsonic's poor service. Having been a customer of Viewsonic for 20 years since their PC monitor days in Taiwan and Hong Kong, I feel terribly disappointed by the treatment I received in this instance. I was pretty pleased with my original Can$300 something Viewpad 7 purchased in Canada but unfortunately it broke down suddenly within 6 months of use.
Summary: Viewsonic lies to it's customers. They have provided no support for the past 7 months for a product that is 9 months old. How long do they plan on suporting any product with their name on it. REMEMBER THE GTABLET!!!
Summary: First of all, I need to make it clear that I do not own one of these devices. I am the site owner of viewsonic gtablet for dummies (google search it). I am writing this review to make people aware that barely 4 months after the viewsonic gtablet was out in the market viewsonic dropped all support for the device. If you call them now about the gtablet, they will deny ever knowing anything about it. That's what going to happen to your viewsonic viewpad if you buy one.
Summary: I purchased this tablet from frys electronics and was very excited about it. It worked very well for about the first five minutes then the wifi started cutting in and out. Ok so i called customer service he gave me a fix and told me to call back if i had any further issues. Ok it looked good from here i tryed the fix, and even though it erased my files, it worked...for about five minutes.
Summary: This is a horrible tablet. It's running the old Android 2.2, which is designed for phones, not tablet. And it shows. Many applications run in a small window, or in the wrong aspect ratio. The tablet is VERY slow and sluggish, even navigating the icons is frustrating. Mine also has hardware problems, with false touches detected at the bottom of the screen. This tablet was outdated the day it was released.
Summary: The languages provided were limited; only 4 languages are available. I think this is due to the os of android 2.2, the upgrade is long time coming or ever. For the os I have to say that Mac by far is better than all other on the market.
Summary: this tablet stopped working 2 weeks after i received it. got no response from the seller. not supposed to say anything bad about the store i bought this from so i won't. viewsonic would take it back and promised to fix or replace with a used one. i paid 400 dollars to have it replaced with a used one. give me a break. won't be purchasing anything from these companies again. tablet itself is slow and choppy with browser. no flash. no adobe.
Summary: Got the device as a alternative browser pad. Pro: Light weight, quality build, nice interface, easy to use. Cons: Tried it on 3 access points, would not get internet on any of them while my Android Hero, my friends iphone 3g, and Sprint EVO all were able to connect to those wifi routers. The Viewpad 7 would continue to try to connect without success.
