Summary: I was ready to take a step up from my pda and get a tablet. The Toshiba Thrive looked great but was reluctant at first because of the Android OS (was never really a fan of Android). I needed a tablet I could comfortably walk around with and quickly itemize/catalog inventory, so I took a chance with this tablet (and it's Android OS) and now wish I hadn't.
Summary: This is my first tablet of this size and actually, my first tablet that does not belong to one of my children. Overall, it meets my expectations. I do find it a little slow when opening browsers and retrieving the URL. The convenience is what I like, in particular being able to skype anywhere in my home and to check email quickly. For me, any serious work requires a laptop. I don't care for abbreviated web pages and not being able to use a flash drive.
Summary: I purchased this through an Amazon seller. I have returned many items over the years with no restocking fee of 20% so I had no reason to look for the small print on this deal...and I also did not receive any information from the seller or Amazon about a return shipping label and therefore had to pay for the return shipping of $7.00 when I sent it off to what appears to be an individual named "Luna Lynn" living in Fairfax, VA.
Summary: When it works, it's a nice product. It's small enough to use as an e-reader and has a mini hdmi port that I can use to run power point presentations off of. (I'm a college professor) About a month in, it wouldn't turn on. I sent it back and they replaced the motherboard. Everything worked fine for another month and then it started acting like it was possessed, opening menus scrolling through screens without my even touching the thing.
Summary: UPDATE: I find that people really hate when you critisize stuff on Amazon, mainly because they already bought the product and want confirmation they made a good choice. This review will benefit you best if you have never used this tablet. But anyway. I am, seriously glad I returned this tablet and bought an Acer Iconia A100. Has all of the features I liked from this Tablet and lost all of the junk.
