Summary: My son got one M4 and it has had video problems, hybernate problems, computer 'hang', ... Now the display has completely failed and the system doesn't even boot! And only a 9 month old laptop!!
Pros: Really nothing if the basic features such as a clean display don't work properly!
Cons: Toshiba has not put in enough engineering effort in their laptops which results in such laptops that are so touchy. A good PC company would put their prototype laptops through rigorous testing so that the public can have a nice product for their money. This is literally a piece of junk.
Summary: It's been little more than a year that I've been using my tablet and it still give full performance without any problems. If it wasn't for the overheating problem I'd probably give a 10 even though the M7 is out right now. I expect to be using it for probably 4 more years or even more with ressource extensive application like CAD works, maya and cinema4d rendering and video editing.
Pros: A simple 1GB RAM upgrade boosted my tablet into a real monster. What could I say more about it? it the cream of the cream! And with 3 year internationnal warranty, what could you possibly want more?
Cons: Overheats often... cpu runs around 50°C and sata disk runs around 45°C. You can fell it when it's really HOT just under your left wrist. I'll be undervolting the CPU somewhere this week after reading some positive comments about it. Also, the front lock (the thin black plastic part just above the unlocking button) is quit fragile, it broke (didn't fell off) within my first 6 months. Haven't yet tough of sending it to toshiba for fixing...
Pros: After a minor RAM upgrade, the M4 performs spectacularly. Wireless internet connectivity is reliable, the screen is sharp, games and applications run without a hiccup performance- or graphics-wise, and the tablet function is integrated very naturally. Note-taking has been revolutionized with Microsoft One-Note, and drawing with Adobe Photoshop is always exciting. The case is rugged and the slim-bay feature allows for note-taking during long lectures and presentations....
Cons: At the altar of performance, battery life was sacrificed. With the extra battery and extra-long life enabled, I've gotten to around five hours. I also got a second main battery, which allows me to sit through two days of college lectures between charges. Battery life isn't fantastic, but it's enough for those like myself who are never far away from an power outlet.
Summary: Great all round tablet PC - Superb for sketching and drawing, snappy performance in games and movies, sweet hi-res display, decent build quality, reasonable performance if you up the RAM above 1GB
Pros: Everything you need is built in - bluetooth, wireless, DVD burner, graphics card, SD card reader. Excellent recovery software
Cons: Battery life is woeful, can be noisy when pushed for performance, screen is dull and lacks contrast, heavy, too many bundled apps,
