Summary: I received a Toshiba Excite Write tablet as a gift earlier this year. Given the price, I probably would not have purchased this device on my own, but am now glad I have it. I have also read many of the online reviews, on my way to learning about my device, so I understand some of the reasons why...
Summary: I am so happy with the purchase of my Excite Write. I consider it a bargain at NOK 1990, USD 331. It came with the pen and the BT keyboard cover from Toshiba. It is at the same price level as the Nexus 7 2014 here in Norway.
No Root??? Really... this tablet isn't worth the money.

Summary: I bout this tablet because of the specs... screen, cpu, graphics, pen... it all sounded good until i received it and realized it was locked down. I spent $600 for hardware locked down by software. NO ROOT?
The problem is NOT so much with the tablet but with Toshiba

Summary: As can be seen from other reviews and Toshiba's comments, they have the Apple attitude: they know what is best and diminish user's comments, particularly from other power users like myself. While the flaws for this pricy tablet are well known, it is still a good tablet.
Summary: Rant: no ability to root the tablet is bad, Toshiba please listen to your customers. If nothing else it would make it possible to remove the pre-installed apps, who thought it would be a great idea to have everybody have backgammon installed?
Summary: I am having this tablet for over two weeks now, and here are my impressions: The good: 1. Screen is excellent. High resolution, not dim - I use mine at around 70% brightness level, good, not oversaturated colors.
Summary: I bought this tablet on the day it came out. The screen is gorgeous, I'm even able to read in sunlight. There are power saving features which allows you to extend battery life. The tablet is very responsive, is a nice weight and is great for students or people in business.
Summary: **Update July 28, 2013** -- See bottom -- The Specs on this tablet are fantastic. quad core processor, 2 gig of ram, 32 gig storage, 2500x1600 screen resolution, active digitizer pen. Ok so it is thicker then a few sheets of paper, and toshiba is notorious for locking down the boot loader.
