Summary: Please keep in mind that this is a review of the Toshiba 7.7 Excite AT270/AT275. (There's a new Toshiba Excite 7" tablet, the Excite Go, that does NOT compare!) This is my second Toshiba tablet, the 7" Thrive being the first -- until I dropped it and broke the on/off button. (I managed to solder it back on, but it's not quite reliable.) The reason I like the Excite AT270 (or AT275) is because it has a whole lot of features that other, and newer, tablets still don't have.
Summary: I have had several tablets prior to the excite and none performed as well as this. The colors in the graphics are very vivid. I love the swype keyboard as well as the ability to type in different languages. The tablet is worth every penny even though it has been discontinued.
Summary: Right now, March 2014, there are two tablets using AMOLED display technology. For those who do not know, AMOLED is a new sort of display technology which everyone agrees is the future of display tech. Each individual pixel both emits light and displays color. What this means in practice is that black levels are very very good because that part of the display is turned off. Plasma televisions are renown for their amazing black levels.
Summary: I wasn't sure about this tablet cuz nobody I knew had one, but it's Toshiba so I gave it a shot. It is well worth it. I've had no problems with it so far, an doubt I will. Everything on it looks so bright an clear. Picture quality is wonderful, so is video. Volume is a little quiet but not too bad. I would recommend this tablet to all my friends.
Summary: I love this Tablet so much I bought one for my Grandson, he was turning two when I bought it for him. The ease of use and the vivid screen colors are very captivating. The price was very reasonable compared to the I pad that cost two times as much. I am very happy with this purchase, I have had my Tablet now going on three years without no problems. I think this Tablet is discontinue but you still can fine plenty of product for it.
