Toshiba Excite 13

PC Magazine
17 August 2012
  • Conclusion: The huge, pricey Toshiba Excite 13 tablet doesn't offer enough content to fill its vast screen.
  • Pros: Giant screen is good for watching videos. Excellent Tegra 3 performance.
  • Cons: So big it's unwieldy. Too expensive. Not enough HD content.

Toshiba Excite 13

CNET
6 June 2012
  • Summary: On its own, the Toshiba Excite 13 is a decent tablet with a snappy CPU anyone can appreciate. But the unjustifiably big 13.3-inch screen isn't worth the price or the trouble.
  • Cons: The Excite 13's mammoth screen makes it cumbersome to maneuver, and it doesn't deal well with videos that don't fit its aspect ratio.

Toshiba Excite 13

LAPTOP Magazine
5 June 2012
  • Summary: When it comes to tablets, how big is too big? Toshiba says that the Excite 13 is meant to be used primarily around the home, but there's simply not enough here to justify the $649 price. The screen isn't as bright or as sharp as we'd like, the cameras are mediocre, and the battery life is below average. Finally, although it's not Toshiba's fault, there's a dearth of Android apps that look good at 1280 x 800 pixels, much less 1600 x 900.
  • Pros: Huge display makes sharing content easy, Excellent quad-core performance, Full-size SD card slot
  • Cons: Dimmer-than-average screen, Expensive, Too awkward to use while standing taking photos, Big screen accentuates Android's tablet app gap

Toshiba announces 13 inch Excite tablet – did they miss the point or is this the next Galaxy Note?

Gadgetmania
17 April 2012
  • Conclusion: Toshiba says that the Excite 13 is mostly for indoor use, to comfortably browse the Web, watch videos and listen to music. It would really look great in the living room or in the kitchen – with the desk stand and no keyboard it would not take a lot of space, but the price is a bit high to make it worth it. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Toshiba Excite 13

cellphones.ca
31 January 2014
  • Excerpt: With a 13.3-inch screen, the Toshiba Excite 13 is markedly different from many other tablets available on the market today, pretty much sitting in a category all on its own. If you believe that larger means better, then the Excite 13 should open up exciting possibilities for you. Like the Toshiba Excite 10 tablet, the Excite 13 is an Android-powered device that runs on NVIDIA’s quad-core Tegra 3 CPU.

Toshiba Excite 13

TechRadar UK
30 August 2012
  • Excerpt: In the tablet game, there seems to be only one question - what's the right size? Samsung with their Galaxy Note figured a 5-incher qualified only as a hybrid. The iPad proved people would buy a 9-incher en masse, the HP reaffirmed it, and the Blackberry thought it stumbled on something magical with its 7.7-inch tablet.

PC Advisor

  • Excerpt: When is a tablet no longer a tablet? One might ask that question when looking at the Toshiba Excite 13, even though it is clearly a tablet given its lack of an integrated keyboard. The largest of any tablet announced or shipping, this slate is all about its generous display. But does a 13-inch display make a tablet too unwieldy?

Toshiba Excite 13, análisis a fondo

planetared.com
12 October 2012
