Review Toshiba AT300SE-101 Tablet

Notebookcheck
10 April 2013
  • Summary: Inexpensive remake. Between the release of the Toshiba AT300 and AT300SE there were just a few months. This can also be seen in the comparison of the technical specifications of the two devices; the main specifications are almost identical. We checked if the 50 Euros (~$65) lower price point of the AT300SE is the deciding factor for a purchase.
  • Pros: Very bright display, High performance, Good speakers with settings, Long battery runtime, The performance of the Nvidia Tegra 3 is always sufficient and the temperature development of the tablet is very balanced.
  • Cons: Weak camera, High weight, Limited scope of delivery, The main camera with its 3.0 MP is a bit meager as well as the scope of delivery. There would be enough space in the box for more accessories.

Toshiba AT300 - 16GB

AVForums
9 February 2013
  • Conclusion: With the iPad losing it's dominance ever so slowly, Android devices now offer a solid alternative at all price points, from basic generic tablets right up to iPad equivalents and beyond; meaning whatever price you can afford, there's a tablet for you. What this means to manufacturers in such a popular market place is that a tablet needs to offer something special to stand out amongst the crowd. Whether that's in price, performance or specification.
  • Pros: Great value for money, Very powerful Tegra 3 processor, Excellent for gaming, Lightweight, comfortable and thin design, Good battery life, Full sized SD card slot
  • Cons: Poor sound quality, Build quality could be higher

  • Conclusion: The AT300 is definitely a more premium product, but it has enough drawbacks that a cheaper alternative is better. And while the Toshiba AT270 is one of the best 7-inch tablets out there, the price point is prohibitively high, making the AT300SE the best tablet of choice from Toshiba right now.

Toshiba AT300

CNET
20 November 2012
  • Summary: The Toshiba AT300 provides a better design and more powerful processor than its predecessor and it costs less than the iPad. However, Google's Nexus 7 offers the same punch for a lot less money, if you can handle a smaller screen.
  • Cons: Display is not as high resolution as the iPad; Google Nexus 7 offers equal power for a much lower price.

Toshiba AT300 tablet

  • Conclusion: And that pretty much sums up the AT300 – it’s good at everything it does, with no major flaws to hold it back and great price in its favour. It won’t set the world alight, but it’ll prove a sound purchase all the same.

Toshiba AT300 review

Pocket Lint
19 September 2012
  • Excerpt: It's fair to say we've slammed previous Toshiba tablets for being utterly dreadful. We haven't done this to be mean, or to look big and clever, we've done it because, in our view, those tablets were a waste of money and offered nothing that tablets from Asus and Samsung didn't.
  • Pros: Stylish, good battery life, nice to use, minimal customisations by Toshiba
  • Cons: Not great for media playback - Samsung rules here, still arguably too expensive
